My mum used to be the same when I lived at home, right up until I left at 20. The reason given was "it's my house", it was the same reason why she used to moan that my room (which was on the top floor of the house away from most things - literally just mine and my brothers room in a converted attic) should always be tidy. Trying to reason with "it's my room, I pay rent and I'm an adult" was never good enough.

Because it IS a reasonable expectation, I don't think I know of anyone - parent or child - who wouldn't find your mum's behaviour baffling at best, disturbed at worst. She can't possibly cite a reasonable excuse for going into your room without being asked, so if she actually thinks she IS being reasonable, I would find that more than a little worrying.
