By that logic, nothing should be worried about except our physical well being and the well being of others.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs dictates that as individuals once we have fulfilled a base need, we then look to fulfil the next highest need (the higher up the pyramid you go, the fewer people there are).

If the pyramid is applied to a social construct (the society being the forum community) then presumably we've all got internet access and free time to spend online. This would say that we're fairly high up the pyramid, meaning that issues that may seem trivial on a global scale suddenly have a lot more meaning to the individual.

Spelling and grammar standards are important to some people, as the dilution of it (including slang and text speak) could be seen as some to be an acceptance of slipping standards of intellect.

However, LongView01's mistake wasn't the worst of SPAG sins I've seen on here.

I wish my communications degree had a better application than this.

Really? You can't care about one thing because something completely unrelated is happening elsewhere?

People not caring enough to use their own language correctly bothers me.

I don't really know what you are talking about but if you or anyone else is that concerned about spelling and grammar errors on a Chris Moyles fan forum then you either need a job or a hobby. Get over it, move on with your life.

See, this is the thing, that people see that others caring about the correct use of language are in need of a hobby speaks volumes about both them and this country in general.

Grammar.

Just fling in a few * and nobody really notices.

I have no food in the office. It is no-one's birthday so there are no cakes. Someone is going off on maternity leave after today and she has not brought anything in. There. Is. No. Food.

Should have taken something in with you then! I have a cheese, ham and marmite sandwich , a left over chicken breast from nando's and a strawberry yoghurt waiting for me in the fridge. And I'm tempted to eat them now as I'm hideously hungover.

Woah guys....its simple really.

My standards of spelling will never live up to your guys expectations.

Lets all just accept each other for who we are and live our lives in harmony :)

Either that or this guy will start making a regular appearance

I found, by foraging in the desk of someone who isn't here today, three humbugs. That is going to have to do for now.

Madness, you'll find an indignant post-it note on the office fridge or somewhere tomorrow saying "Will the person who took my humbugs kindly replace them?"

Ok, going out for drinks tonight with a few people from work to celebrate a birthday or two - but the girl who has organised the whole thing has jus' emailed us all to say - the restauranat DOESN'T SERVE ALCOHOL...!

I mean WTF?!!

This is by far the worst thing a woman has said to me since Yuds blurted out 'quick, its my husband'.

Not happy.

How can you organise going out for drinks at a place that doesn't do drinks?

It's been confirmed that HMV are closing it's Bracknell store. Doesn't annoy me in terms of not being able to buy stuff but I have someone who does part time evening work for me who has worked there since day one. They even took a pay cut a year ago so they could continue to work there. Poor bugger.

Any chance you can give the person more hours at your place?

Nah not right now. The only way that would happen is if we get bought out (which is on the cards but no firm date). She's is a very capable woman though, she does the cash office/admin stuff for HMV and I'd like to have her in a similar role.
