As for Liverpool, I've stood by Benitez in the past but I've lost trust. His team selection's poor, substitutions are at best ill-advised and the side play with no hope, inspiration, belief or creativity. I just pray Juventus are stupid enough to relieve us of his presence, and hopefully Fernando Torres will conjure up some reason to stay! The team is visibly worse without him, although I will never understand why Rafa refuses to start Alberto Aquilani, and when he does he always substitutes him. In the game against Chelsea he was our best player, yet Rafa still took him off. Pillock. New season, new manager please.

I agree, I've always rather leapt to Rafails defence in the past but he's buggered up one too many times now that I just can't defend the poor sod anymore

Since my above post, having obtained only 1 point from an available 12, I am now using my ticket for sunday to see whether we get 3rd spot or not. Not quite the same as 3 weeks ago. Stupid football!

* frustrating isn't it, at least Wenger has admitted his experiment (which I believe was to win something with a younger squad) was a bollock up and he's going to spend in the summer, apparently the new chap from Bordeaux is supposed to be quite good & he's on a free transfer so that's something at least. Let's just hope Sylvestre sods off in the summer. To be fair although it is frustrating, I'm not one of the tiny minority who want "Wenger to go", he's having a rough patch but some seem to forget all he has done for the club over the last 14 years.

We're going down, but I sort of take solace in the fact that Brian Laws destroyed two clubs this year. Well done sir.

I had a chat with the chairman and one of the directors of ColU the other day. My gripe was that just a few weeks ago we were looking like a possibe automatic promotion spot might be in our grasp, and now we've missed the playoffs by two places. Strangely enough, they had no answers for me, although to be fair they were as pissed off about it as I am. The reality seems to be that we are still a teeny tiny club financially compared to most of the opposition even in League 1, and when we do look competitive its the exception, rather than the rule.

Next season.

I don't think Wenger should go at all, with how much he spent we have had a good season, albeit a bad end to one. However, I do think that all the goalkeepers should go and try and spend a bit of money luring Joe Hart into Arsenal, as well as dumping Eduardo and bringing in that Chamack on a free. And this may be controversial but maybe even extend Campbells contract.....

Problem with Arsenal is that they can't KEEP the amazing young players - and the ones they do keep are never as good as they were supposed to be (Theo Walcott? Any takers? No? ok, he can stay then......).

To me the most interesting question is - what will Stephen Gerrard do now? Torres will go - he left his last club for Champions League football, and he'd been a lifelong fan of theirs, so he will certainly leave Liverpool for that reason. But Gerrard? I think he should go, but the question is where to?

Gerrard seems to have to prove himself again though, he's had a poor season (granted along with Liverpool), but the team alone can't be blamed, when Torres has been fit he's had some great games. I really want Torres to stay, the man's a hero, but I can't say I'd be surprised or even annoyed if he left, a player of that quality deserves Champions League football. I can't see him staying in England if he moves, and if he moves to City or even United I'd just be disgusted!

I also think Gerrard is a quality player. I'm just not sure that Liverpool next season is where he ought to be.

And i don't think it would be frowned upon if Gerrard left as there is no question of his loyalty to Liverpool over the past years so deserves some glory in his career. Wouldn't say no to him joining Arsenal....

To quote from the article you linked to -

Wikithingy wrote:Language in title and lyrics

There has been some confusion about the identity of the language in the song's title and lyrics. The words are Spanish, but the phrase is ungrammatical in Spanish. Composer Jay Livingston had seen the 1954 film The Barefoot Contessa, in which an Italian family has the motto "Che sarà sarà" carved in stone at their ancestral castle. He immediately wrote it down as a possible song title

The original vinyl recording by Doris Day from the movie The man Who Knew Too Much also has Che Sera Sera on it - I know, I have it.

No, I stand by my assertion. Maybe 'che' is an alternative spelling, but in this context it's definitely 'que'. There's not even a wikipedia page called 'che sera sera'.

I think Doris pre dates Wikipedia by a fair stretch. I feel sorry for the generation that can't manage to "assert" anything without reference to that strange and notoriously unreliable source!

Our young Simon lacks experience with primary sources. I fear for the younger generations and their reliance on the Wikipedias without looking at sources.

I don't need sources, everyone knows it's 'que'. Besides that, the Doris Day version on Spotify clearly reads 'que'.

If you do want another reference, then try here:
The phrase "Que Sera, Sera" came from a movie called The Barefoot Contessa, where the character Rossano Brazzi's family motto was "Che Sera, Sera." The motto in the film was Italian, but Evans and Livingston switched the "Che" to "Que" because more people spoke Spanish in the US.
