I should point out before hand that all the terms below I have heard have been used by either my brother of friends in a piss-taking way & 98% these people actually talk normally

Gash = Which to my brother means something is rubbish ("That game was a load of gash"), however to my Dad, Gash = Vagina, when he first heard my brother use the term in his way he asked him why he was talking about gashes thinking he was using the term in the way he knew the word.

Nang = Good, one of my friends at college had a friend there that declared anything good nang, in turn this lead to a load of piss taking & plays on the word included: nang-a-lang, nangtastic & pure glorified nangness, however all three terms were used to take the piss out of someone

Bumbaclut = Idiot, my brother used the term every so often (although often shortened it to Bumba) to refer to someone being an idiot

Murked = Made to look an idiot, my brother went through a phase of using this term after he saw that Rio Ferdinand programme on ITV a while back

It is the same way. Think of other slang terms for lady parts that are used in a derogatory way: cnut, tw@t, etc. 'Gash' evolved in the same way as those.
