The supermarket own brands are not vegan, sadly - they use eggs as a binding agent. Same with most veggie 'beef' burgers - even Linda M's contain eggs. As does Quorn. I buy great vegan burgers, hot dog sausages, chicken burgers and 'beef' strips (for in stirfries and whatnot) by an American brand called Fry's, but you can only get those in health food shops.

The Veggie Burgers and Veggie Bangers I have had in the past don't have egg in them, but they say you can use egg to mix instead of water if you like.

I definitely wouldn't go vegan. I reckon I only have meat three times a week - four at most - so vegetarian would be possible, but I won't be doing it!

Trust me, you wouldn't die. If you felt strongly about it you'd figure it out quickly enough, like anything really. I didn't dislike dairy products - well, they made me mucus-y but that's not the same thing - but I was keen enough to distance myself from all animal products that I soon found and learned to use the alternatives. I've just eaten a 'steak' pie with roasted veg followed by homemade cupcakes - I'm in no danger of dying.

Oh no, I don't have any qualms about not being able to be well on a vegetarian diet - I just don't want to! And vegans always seem to be having to ask questions about their food - I don't want to be that obsessed by what I "can" and "can't" eat. Not when there's no need.

Yeah, you do have to do that a lot. It's tedious at times. Again, you just get used to it if it's important to you.

It would have to be important indeed.
