My least favourite Discworld book, if I don't take into account the young adult books, would be either 'Equal Rites' or 'Monstrous Regiment'.

Humph, well spotted...

I think you're confusing nyctophobia with necrophobia.

In the Irvine Welsh book Ecstasy there is a funny story about a local DJ or TV presenter type who pays the Mortuary people to let him go in and ehem, avail himself of them.

I always thought this sort of thing was dead boring.

Its my last week of school, which is a good feeling. Also, helping teach year 5 kids how to make rockets is making me smile, as I was only meant to be helping today, but the children want me to go back tomorrow so thats making me smile. :)

I've always liked the name Luke.

Making me smile today is the fact that I've finally handed in my notice at work (and before you say it, I didn't leave it too late, my boss has only just arrived).

I feel so free now. I can't wait to start my new job!

All I have to go through now is that embrassing speech at the end of your last day! I am really not looking forward to that bit.

I've never had to do a speech when leaving a job and if I did, I'd refuse to do it.

Well it's more of a "Speech! SPEECH! Say something!" thing after your boss has humiliated you with his presentation.

I think you're meant to say something on the lines of "Thanks... it's been a pleasure... blah blah blah" which is total bollocks because if it was that great you'd bloody stay!

I don't think I actually have a choice to refuse. It's just not done. Although I am tempted to say "Thanks for the gift... Bye!"

Meh I didn't get that, I just turned the lights off and posted the keys through the letterbox (along with a sample of my own urine) for him to pick up the next morning!

:( You're so lucky, I wish I could just sneak off... but I doubt very much I'll be able to.

My boss is one of those people you "career laugh" at. If he says something that's meant to be a joke you're meant to laugh. Which means that my presentation is going to be jam packed with cheesy jokes and rubbish like that.

Although, it might not be as bad as I think as he generally hates anyway me because not only have I never laughed at his "jokes" but when ever he's started a story that I've heard before (he has a habit of repeating stories that got a laugh the first time) I end up telling him that we've heard it before.

Not 100% sure, but over 7lbs which is much bigger than either of his two big sisters. Don't have any middle name details yet, but his dad David will make sure it's something sane - he won't leave it to Sarah, or it would be Dwayne or Bradley or something crappy like that.

I haven't seen any! But apparently he has blue eyes and red hair, which is typical of his family - the only other boy in that generation though is Baby Yudster, and he has brown hair and very dark brown eyes.

I have three and a half weeks left to go and I'm possibly going to be in that position - although I hope not, I have discouraged any hints that there will be a "do" of any kind.

Thankfully the guy that left before me broke the chain of having to go to the pub after work on your last day to say "goodbye" which means I can do exactly the same now. So I hopefully then won't have to spend one second more than needed with these people after 4:00 on the 15th July.

When I left my last job I was quite happy to got for the leaving drinks because I liked most of the people I worked with, I just couldn't stand the job. You both sound as though that's not really the case for you.

Nope!

Apart from the woman I actually work alongside with, who is lovely, the people here are nothing more than chavtasic hyenas who like nothing more than to gossip about other people, read OK! magazine, watch Big brother and generally enjoy other people's misfortune. They're horrible, annoying and extremely lazy; and what makes it worse is that apart from myself and some other people - no one has ever complained about them, which means they get away with being lazy, shouting across the office at decibels only bats can hear and generally being awful; and to top it all off, their manager is just as bad as them, what with the gossiping, but he is also best buds with one of the top guys of the department, so you really can't do much!

They're one of the many reasons (as well as actually disliking my job) why I'm leaving. I can't wait!!

Don't get me wrong, there was some complete pricks there (management and lower level), but only people I wanted to invite out for leaving drinks were asked.
