I enjoyed that too.

I've got them Sky Plus'd but haven't got round to watching em yet, i'm a huge Gervais and Pilkinton fan so I can't see myself getting disappointed.

The first episode last Wednesday was brilliant and I think it's the best thing Ricky has ever done. Episode 2 is on tonight.

Although Gervais' can be pretty nasty, the only show that he was involved in that I really didn't care for was Life's Too Short. I tried watching it but after several episodes, I just couldn't do it anymore. It made me way too uncomfortable.

On another note, I've been watching Continuum - a Canadian scifi show imported here to The States. I think it's pretty good.

Yeah it's true he's the King of unkind comedy. But I think Ricky is brilliant.

There's a big difference between unkind and nasty. While I have a lot of respect for the acclaim he got for the office, and think he's an intelligent man, I don't think he is a nice person.

I went to see him do stand up (3rd tour, fame I think), and all he did was mock the disabled, fat and poor while trying to claim an 'edgy un-PC' vibe, but came off as a nasty individual who refuses to listen of acknowledge other people's opinion of what he shouldn't do, and makes it cruel to spite the people who won't like it. Since he's joined twitter he has cemented that.

Gervais appears to be like a couple of other "edgy" comedians out there and is fine to mock people, criticise certain things etc but the second a fan/reviewer/twitter follower says anything negative they literally start having a breakdown and take it extremely personally.
Gervais seems desperate on Twitter for people to like his new show Derrick. He seems massively worried about getting praise for it. I caught the last 15 minutes of the first episode and thought it was good.

Anyone watching Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe? I like shows that tear apart current events, Russell Howard's Good News (also available on YouTube), Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You and now Brooker's program. Before this I have only seen his year in review shows. Charlie Shitpeas, what a name. He was funny talking about the BBC Africa program. I did some research and found out the guy who plays Charlie Shitpeas is the director of the show.

I've been watching the first series of Black Mirror before it starts up again next week.

Oh, I forgot about it last night. I used to really love his work but I think he's mellowed a bit since getting married and having a kid. He's just not as biting anymore.

I caught a few minutes of him yesterday - it's the same old stuff.

Fast paced soliloquy that picks apart minor details, being as cynical as possible before rounding on the larger (more obvious) things that he wants to be cynical about and then inferring that everything's crap. Essentially he's like a miserable, less charismatic version of TV Burp.

*yawn*

I used to love him but when he married Konnie Huq I wondered who he really is. She is an ex Blue Peter presenter who hasn't done anything of note since then, except appear on Scott Mills' show during a period when he was covering for Moyles on Breakfast, and reveal to the listening world that she is REALLY thick.

I know its unfair, but I can't help it - fact is every time I look at or listen to him now I can't help thinking "but he is married to KONNIE HUQ??"

I have NO idea. But even if she did, I'm not convinced it carries any credentials that might make me re-evaluate my opinion of her.

Konnie Huq is a fine, fine piece of ass. The fact she is pretty dumb is a bonus.

I think it's more the intellectual gap.

However (from Wiki):

She was educated at Notting Hill & Ealing High School in London and left school with 9 GCSEs and A-levels in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Despite having studied the sciences for her A-Levels, she chose to read Economics and graduated with a 2:1 from Robinson College in Cambridge.

She may be more interesting than she lets on

See now that will be more useful to me in reconciling my ideas than Xtra-Factor.
