A bad vibe = for example you are really angry with another person, and you start thinking hateful thoughts - a more sensitive soul (like moi) will be able to pick up on and register these.

Good vibes = the opposite.

Fair enough, although I'm not entirely sure how, I can see ways in which being 'invisible' would shield (for lack of a better term) you from feeling the vibes. If people could arbitrarily see hidden users, would that still apply?

The obvious solution is to view as a "guest", then no-one knows you're still on-line.

Well, there you are then. Take that as a reason as to why people want to be able to hide, and why other people being given the ability to see hidden users is a bad thing.

Yeh, but I always think you are Chris are a seperate "issue".. People will know you will be watching. It's only 2 people, and not the entire Board. I'm suspicious that it's more likely that people don't want others to know who is pm'ing who.

Yes, but if you have been logged on using the same IP address, it's not hard to work out who the guest is.
