You're just making it up. FTL means nothing more than a kind of text speak version of FooTLoose.

I understand that but lots of people do choose laptops for seemingly no reason whatsoever, when they could get a desktop for cheaper.

Actually it was quite a difficult choice for me and sometimes I wish I had gone for the desktop but in the end I figured I'd look like a twat lugging a suitcase into starbucks and trying to set up a desktop. Style over substance for me every time.

I've already managed to fill my 160GB hard disk. Sadly it's mostly music. The porn takes up a surprisingly small amount.

I have 2.5TB in HDD space on my desktop (>500GB free space); luckily, I don't need to drag the whole thing around as I've got a file-server set-up on it that I can access from anywhere with Internet access.

Three words - President Barack Obama.

That, and Carrie this morning telling me the result of a game I completely forgot about in my ranting at diving Stevie G in the Champions League last night... Rangers 3, Dundee United 3. We're still top and their game in hand is gone!

Paxman is ace. He made me laugh last night on Newsnight when he said something like "And now over to Jeremy Vine where he is playing with his new toy", cue Jezza V on his fancy video screen.

Also, did anyone see the first report on BBC News at 10 last night? It was about the length of time folk had to queue to vote in Obamaland. The reporter said, and I quote: "This is a nation of fast food, short attention spans and a moderatly low voter turn out. Not this year."

Not a bad wee insult for the Beebs flagship news programme.

It's making me smile at the metion of the Dimblebys

If you've ever read Adrian Mole: The Cappuccino Years- his mother claims that her and the bloke she's cheating on her husband with were having an argument about which Dimbleby had the better commentry of the 1997 UK election

I'm glad Obama won...although the odd American is calling him "Baby-Killer Obama" assumedly because he supports abortion...so what if he does? and if I've got it wrong I still don't hink he's a baby killer...

I loved Ken Bruce today when he talked about that woman who told her kids about who won the election and her eldest said "was that the old one or the young one?"

I was helping my mum prepare for her bonfire party and she only listens to R2 :(

His best was Michael Howard when he was Home Secretary - the famous one where he asked the same question 12 or 14 times.

I remember Moyles playing a clip of Paxman on Newsnight once interviewing the Director General of the BBC (who I think was Greg Dyke at the time, but could have been John Birt) and giving him a very hard time - Moyles had caught the interview and was playing it back reminding everyone that this man is Paxman's boss and Paxman is having a right go at him on TV. I was reminded of that very recently actually, when Mark Thompson was interviewed by George Alagaiah (sp?) over the Brand / Ross thing. I know they have to be seen to be doing that because it's the BBC, but it is amusing to watch.

Also, making me smile today is my new Samsung Omnia.

I remember that interview- I have seen it so many times that I have been convinced in my head that he asks the question about 50 times...

PS I like George Alagaiah ( I also don't know how to spell so have copied Topher's spelling) in a number of interviews...I think that even though it has already been done, he wasn't doing a copy of Paxman, but it was humerous nonetheless
