I know this.

I was just saying that what you said is inevitable except under the conditions I mentioned. It's you who is the tit.

I am old enough to realize this is a silly discussion, twix two of the three best Pedants on the planet, and young enough to think it's funny to see the snow change color when you wee on it.

Ok

Englishman, Irishman, and a hypochondriac walk into a bar, the English man says "I am really tired and thirsty, I need a Beer" The Irishman says " I am really knackered and parched I need a Guiness" The Hypochondriac then says " I am tired and thirsty, I must be Diabetic"

WHICH IS WHY IT'S A GOOD WAY TO DESCRIBE YOUR AGE

How is it a good way to describe your age? It's true for most people with any teeth at all and everyone who has lost their baby teeth.

Though Boboff is right, so I'm going to stop now.

S4B, I really think you didn't actually read Topher's original response quite right..........he wasn't arguing with your statement, he was saying it was obvious.

Which is the point of it Yuds! It's an age old response to people enquiring about your age when you don't want to give it!

I also see Boboff's point though.

I love Boboff. Hey Bob how was your rotorvating?

It was ok once I got the thing to work after putting in too much oil and it coming out of the exhaust, then just swaths of white smoke, then ok. I did use the time it spent draining itself to good effect by cleaning all the plastic on the Turkey Shed, and therefore making it my Hot House. Chilli's and Peppers, Lots of Tomatoes all propagated and ready to prick out soon.

Back to the Teeth thing, It is a daft saying so probably originates from Yorkshire, that is where most come from I reckon.

My Father had a habit of asking us as children "How's your belly off for spots?" Strange even for a Cornish chap.

I love tomatoes! My dad always used to have hassle with his rotorvator too. Bloody thing was always a nightmare.

S4B wrote:I'm as old as my tongue and a little older than my teeth

Topher wrote:Unless you were born with teeth and still have your milk teeth, that goes without saying. Have you lost any teeth yet?

S4B wrote:You lot are stupid.

Right

I was born - had a tongue but no teeth - teeth come through later which makes me older than my teeth!

Get it now?

Tits!

Topher wrote:I got it. Read it again. I was saying that what you said goes without saying unless you were born with teeth (which some people are) and still have your milk teeth (which you don't.) If both of those are true, you are as old as your teeth.

S4B wrote:No I'm not I'm considerably older than my teeth.

Right

Milk teeth fall out and get replaced by second teeth - When I was about 14 I had all my current teeth - hence I am older than my current teeth!

Tit!

TIAL fact of the day: I have only ever lost 4 baby teeth. The rest will be with me for life.

Unfortunately they're still in my mouth. I'm the Peter Pan of the tooth world.

Cool. Can I have some of the one's you're not using then later in life then?

If anything I'm the one who'll need the teeth later in life. None of them are un-used, I'll only ever have milk teeth apart from the 4 I lost.

Hahaha. Thank you, Foots, for quoting them all in one post. I can now laugh freely at both of them...twice.

Exactly. You must therefore have a second set waiting to come through apart from 4. So can I drill into your gums and have those ones hiding under the milk teeth?

'Fraid not. The weird thing is that there aren't any adult teeth lurking beneath my gums. They just don't (and won't) exist.
If they were there I'd gladly donate!

At them both? I've now read through all the quotes about 3 times, and to me it seems like S4B has decided she can no longer read nor understand...

Pfft, I pay my fees and will be in massive debt like everyone else when I finish, might as well try and enjoy it now.

"in massive debt" is a somewhat misleading term - its a free loan after all, and you don't have to pay it back until you can. But you should definitely enjoy your time at uni, there's more to it than just getting a degree.

Agreed, what Yudster said.
