Overrated. Do yourself a favour and buy the Breaking Bad box set.

Not remotely interested in Breaking Bad. I'm sure its very well done, but the plot doesn't interest me.

Thanks for the Dexter rating, noted.

I wasn't interested in it either and was determined never to watch it due to all the hype but I assure you it is incredible.

I'll put in a strong vote for Dexter. The 1st 2 seasons are very good. 3rd good but less than 1 & 2. The 4th season with John Lithgow and the 5th with Julia Stiles were a definite improvement over 3. I think season 6 started out really strong, but then it jumped the shark multiple times, and I ended up liking season 6 the least. Season 7 was much better than 6 and it's re-gained a lot of the tension that was apparent in the 1st two seasons. I can't say why without spoilers, but suffice it to say, it set up the final season for the show this Fall.

I've only seen season 1, but I'd say it's worth a watch.

First two seasons, definitely. Third maybe. Thereon, don't bother.

Now onto season 5 of Dexter (tore through those episodes like a mother hubbard)

I strongly agree with most of the above. Seasons 1 & 2 are very good, well worth your time.
After that the dynamic of the show changes and it's a bit more hit and miss.
Enjoyed 3.
Season 4 should have stopped half way through with that storyline.
Just finishing off 5 and it started poorly. Like really poorly. Nearly gave up on it at one stage but I have invested far too much of my time on in it to give up now.
And I'm glad I didn't. Finishing off rather climatically.

So in summary.

I sometimes sniff the paper after wiping as well.

One time my arm spasmed and sent the shitty paper right up my nose.

Could smell that stuff for days.

I learned my lesson though.

Now I hold my wrist with my other hand to avoid another such predicament.

I bought the first season of Neighbours on dvd...(soon to be) Mrs Longview told me I was silly for buying it....40 episodes later and she is hooked and can't wait till the next dvd is released at the end of the month :)

In other news Jason Biggs is the vooice for Leonardo in the new Ninja Turtles cartoon and some artist sent him a pic on twitter that made me chuckle

Neighbours was great at the beg9inning. Well not great,l but compelling viewing for a number of reasons. After Scott and Charlene left though, it has been downhill ever since - and that is a LONG hill.

One actor to keep an eye out when you get to season 7 (the one that just finished) is Yvonne Strahovski who plays the love interest (with a twist) for Dexter. She's pretty good in the role and it's a definite change of pace from her previous role in Chuck. Don't know if that show made it over to the UK, but I thought that it was pretty good and a lot of fun. Worth taking a look at if you haven't already. It's no longer in production, but it lasted for 5 seasons.

Season 5 is out to buy on DVD but I ain't got round to it yet.

Dexter Season 7 has just started here on the FXUK channel so should be caught up on that in a couple of weeks.

Yep it is and for the record Neighbours went down hill in 2003

I do believe it was 'of its time' - much like the hair. Hair was great in the 80's. Although having said that it was before the days of lady topiary, mind.

I stopped watching it in about 1993, when Brad Willis left. I have fond memories of the golden years of the late 80s...ah, Scott and Charlene's wedding. The dress is indeed horrible though, so much high-necked lace!

Brad Willis lol, haven't heard that name for along time.

I managed to get upto 2003 but when they reformatted the show it was worse than ever and nearly all of the classic characters were gone by that point.

Given how season 7 ended, she should also be part of the final season of the show.

Given all the Dexter talk recently, I'd recommend another show Michael C. Hall (Dexter) was in - Six Feet Under. It ran on HBO from 2001-2005. His character is 180 degrees opposite from his Dexter character. This show is one of the best ever IMO, and the series finale is very often included in lists of the top ten show finales ever (at least here in the US).

Nicola loved that show, I think.
I've still got enough on my plate at the moment before I commit to something else.
Got The Following and The Walking Dead on my planner to catch up on.
I like to try and save them up; I've then not got the annoyance of having to wait until next week to find out what's happening.

I started watching JJ Abraham's 'Revolution' last night (The premise is that one day electricity ceases to exist. Fast forward 15 years and society has changed dramatically).

The pilot was OK. Enough to drag me in, but poorly acted with drawn out boring action scenes.
