Making me smile is the thought of Wednesday morning's show. I can't ever remember them being on the air for April fools, so I'm expecting some top-notch prankery from the team. If I were Chris or Dave now I'd be planning ahead with a mischievous grin on my face.

Munki Bhoy wrote:Some toffs won the boaty thing. Wow. When they gonna let other universities take part and stop monopolising the competition?

They have loads of boat races with other Universities throughout the year, but it never gets anywhere near the same amount of press.
A Varsity boat race wouldn't really be any good if other unis took part.

Listening to everyone moan about the bloody farmers because of the clock change.
Then me reminding them that evenings will be lighter and warmer and watching them forget about the bloody farmers momentarily until they look at the office clock which hasn't been changed, reminding themselves about the bloody farmers & the clock change.

It's an endless ballet of stupidity. :D

I just want to see the Paisley Uni entry with the speedboat engine to be honest. And neds on the riverbank throwing stones at them.

The University Boat Race is a very old tradition which only involved Oxford and Cambridge universities because when it started there weren't really any other universities at all. its only in the last couple of decades where the sport of rowing has gone professional that it has had any credibility as a sporting event in and of itself. But you can't have other universities taking part, any more than The Calcutta Cup can be between anyone other than England and Scotland.

Graham Linehan - the excellent writer who at least helped to write such comedies as Father Ted, Black Books, The IT Crowd and Big Train - has posted on his very good blog a link to a PDF. This is no ordinary PDF, though, film buffs. It's the transcript of the original story conference between some men called George Lucas, Stephen Spielberg and Lawrence Kasdan for a small film called, er, 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'.

Link to Linehan's blog entry.

THAT is awesome, thanks for posting. I'll have to have a read later.
Linehan's blog is great too.

Also making me smile - watching the first episode of The Wire again with my flatmate (who's never seen it).
I want to get all my flatmates into it, but I realise the more something is pushed and built up, the less inclined you are to like it.

*Stares at the blatant apostrophe abuse in S4's post*

I FINALLY got 5/5 on the pub quiz this morning.
Hardly something worth being happy about I know but there's always one question that gets me.

Can't stop smiling this morning.

Just to stop any awkward questions, It's not Mrs Zoot's. To be honest, I'm not sure who the mummy is until I go for a DNA test.
