Oh Footy - Our Sunday lunch was a success and I now officially like Haggis

(I think I may actually cook it next time though)

I would like to try haggis one day.

I went to school with a Scot. His nickname was Haggis. It made us laugh (as I said, we were at school.)

Im a big salad fan - tasty and good for you. And topher will disagree with that.

Topher wrote:While we're on a tartan tangent, I went for a pub lunch today and there was a drunken jock in there. I wasn't surprised.

Its alright, its a Monday - its allowed.

Ahh glad to hear it, not many Engerlanders would even give it a try.

See what I mean about it being a really straight forward meal? Did Mrs Zoot approve?

Yea, she did. So did her Ma, who also came down.

boboff wrote:S4 Tesco do a Chocolate Muffin kit which are really nice, just add 100ml of water and you get 4 tasty muffins, with soft melted chocolate centre, it's Cadbury's and amazingly only 50p a box. ( the cheescake mix from green is also a bargain at 40p !)

Thanks Boboff honey but if I'm going to cook I do it from scratch, I agree with Yudster I'm not sure what's in these things and I can't really take credit if they come from a packet can I? My friend always says things like "I'm cooking Lasagne tonight" and when I ask her how she makes her cheese sause she's always bought a jar and then admits to having bought a jar of the pasta sauce too. on what level is that 'cooking'????

Oh and Footy - I LOVE haggis, but then I'm not an Engerlander so not sure if I'm bragging out of school

I don't mind lettuce actually. As long as it's mixed with something (burger, or something equally unhealthy, preferably).

You might as well say "it's alright, it's one of the seven days of the week - its allowed".

I would! (As I just said.) I have heard that if I like black/white pudding (and I love both) I will like haggis.

Our canteen seem to agree with your friend (though when they do homemade lasagne here, it is fantastic.)

That doesn't count.

That was pretty much the joke I was going for.

I can eat it on its own (it's one of the few salad items I can do that with, along with tomato, which I love (cherry tomatoes anyway)), but I'm not keen. Does having it in coleslaw count (lettuce is in coleslaw, right?)

butter? on a sandwich?

lettuce on a sandwich makes it crunchy. as do sprouts. and onions. and pickles. that's my kinda sandwich. (you need to make sure the lettuce is dry.)

There was no knocking in my post S4B, just an element of surprise.

Bean sprouts are nice, but I don't like them raw - I love them stir fried.
