With us now well into the digital age and as we all eventually must go digital thus the switch off of analogue, do you think the switchover in a couple of years or so is a good thing or a bad thing? The good thing about digital is better picture quality and sound and much more choice but the bad thing about it is that there are people who can't afford it especially the elderly, so this has inspired me to start this poll, will you be glad to see analogue television give up the ghost?

I find it disgusting, how many people have a TV in their room, in the spare room, kitchen etc, that means we now have to get these all hooked up to digital, which costs money, even freeview. Yet they want to increace the lincence fee, why don't they take it out of the money we spend on Sky/Cable etc.

They cannot even think about switching the analouge off before they sort out the places which can't recieve digital TV. I brought my mum and dad a freeview box last christmas, but they have been unable to use it because where they live they cannot receive a signal.
So if analouge goes what are they supposed to do.

Note to self - buy board game next christmas

The digital reception isn't good enough yet. We can't get the BBC half the time.

Exactly, look at how much HMG made from selling off the bandwidth for 3G phones.

The least they could do is get the upgrade done sooner rather than later.
They'd get the cash sooner, and the viewers would get more channels.

As for the TV manufacturers, they've been aware for a good number of years that this was going to happen, and selling digital as a "premium" product, when its going to be a necessity in a few years time
