RADIO 1 beauty Sara Cox has split from her hubby Jon Carter after four years of marriage.
The blonde former model is said to be “devastated” after a series of rows with the 34-year-old club DJ.
The pair have a 1½-year-old daughter Lola Anne. But last night, a source said: “Things weren’t working. It’s very sad, but Jon will be moving out of the house after Christmas. They are both devastated.”
Sara, 31, rose to fame as a hard-partying ladette with her best pal, DJ Zoe Ball.
But she left the wild image behind when she became a mum.
Former breakfast show host Sara decided not to return to her weekday drive-time show following maternity leave.
Sara — who modelled for Pretty Polly — said she wanted to be home in the evenings to put her little girl to bed.
She now fronts a Radio 1 weekend show. Last night a close pal said: “Things haven’t been good since the summer. Sara and Jon have been desperately trying to work things out. But sadly, they’ve decided that it’s time for a fresh start separately in the New Year.”
The couple have also made plans to put their North London home up for sale early next year.
They got married in October 2001. The Sun caught them as they tied the knot at a North London register office in a hush-hush ceremony.
They then threw a showbiz wedding bash in a remote Co Wicklow hotel in Ireland, — where the couple were joined by 150 guests.
Last night, both Sara and Jon declined to comment.
