does anybody actually use these features? is there something special about them that i'm missing? right now i only have two people listed as friends, but it's mostly because i don't want to go adding more people and be rejected. as for foes... does it screw up reading the board if you can't read their posts? :?

I haven't really used it, but as far as I know, you don't have to be 'accepted' by the person who you wish to add as a friend. I did add a friend to see what happened, but I don't see any difference. I know what the 'foe' feature does and haven't used it for the reason you listed above.

With "friends": you can see when they show up on-line, which is good :-)

With "foes"... it saves reading what may be hurtful postings... you can read between lines (I find), and not lose the rest of the thread in any way.

Ok, so if kendra is your foe Viv, what happens when I quote her, cos technically it's my post.

Viv, can you read what Kendra's written here?

**** Note to Viv, I added the last 5 words for comedic value, if you can read them, do not take offence ****

you can see when any body's online though, or am i missing something?

i can see missing out on hurtful posts from "foes", but i don't if that would be my action against it. it seems sort of drastic. maybe i'll just foe half the board and see how silly it gets.

The foe thing is a mixed blessing, in that you just don't see the post, this morning for example, it was pointless looking at the board as all the last posts were from the Foe, and therefore would not be shown unless you click on them.

Overall though when everything someone posts annoys and irritates you ( Sorry Horsey it's just the way it is ) it certainly makes for more entertaining and enjoyable time.

And baggie, if you quote one of my Foes in your post, I can see this but not the original post, although in that preview bit you can quote from at the bottom it does appear down hear, which is why you can some times get dragged into answering some of these points

How anyone on here can get wound up enough to have to block what other people are saying is beyond me.

I am probably winding someone up by saying that though.

If you're a more sensitive soul, you may get wound up... I think the "foes" thing is genius personally :-)

I haven't used "foes", I don't want a gappy forum. And I'm not sure what "friends" is for. Well I do, but I don't. Sort of.

Not the most literal translation, but it'll do. :)

Wild abandon is kind of more edgy and slightly dangerous than gay abandon. I'm too old for wild abandon.

Indeed, it is gay abandon that gets more difficult with age
