not to derail the thread about mobile phones in hospitals or cinemas or whatever...

what's so bad about subway? nothing! actually, i take that back- why don't subways in the uk have mustard? subways in germany had it. subways here have it. a veggie delight with no mustard is dull, despite the jalepenos.

I don't like mustard. I generally have a meatball marinara, toasted with cheese and topped mayonnaise. It's great.

Chicken and Bacon Ranch (Footlong) on wheat with BBQ sauce for me.

I think they have Honey Mustard, although it's not really the same.

The only thing wrong with Subway (as far as I can see) is the price, I have no complaint other than that.

I refer you to my other post........... it's fair to say I don't like them one bit. It's just another example of American globalisation tat that has somehow become part of the fashion amongst the sheep-like trend followers in this country. To call them subways is also annoying...... it's a frikkin sandwich.

They taste like dog eggs too.

What's wrong with a good old bacon buttie?

as far as the americanisation of fast food, i'd rather see subway taking over the world than mcdonalds. at least subway can be reasonably healthy.
the price in the uk is ridiculous.

I hadn't actually heard of Subway's until I saw my local one, so I didn't know it wasn't American 'fashionable' thing. That may actually be a lie, wasn't there a South Park episode that involved Subway?

Chicken and bacon ranch is also nice, footlong on Italian for me though.

Because I can never choose. I go in and ask for a "cheese sandwich".

"what size would you like sir?
"What? What size can I have?"
"you can have either a foot or six inches"
**avoids obvious joke**
"Ehh, I'll have the six inches then"
"and what sorta bread do you want?"
**groans**
"what kind of bread can I have?"
"you can have white bread, wheat bread, italian bread, honey oat bread, hearty italian bread, a deli roll or a wrap."
"can I have white, please."
"What filling would you like?"
"cheese"
"what sort of cheese"
**explodes**

etc etc etc

I've even tried just going in and pointing at something on the menu and saying "i want one of those", but I still get a hundred questions. Asda is a lot more straight forward.

maybe. they're not really fashionable in america, just a lesser evil. the only fast food chains i can expect to eat at are subway and glorious taco bell. that's what the uk needs!

Glorified bloody hotdogs thats what they are, I been there a couple of times, the meatball one was ok, but yes going through the rigoramole of what I want is tiresome.

How are they glorified hotdogs when very few (if any) involve sausages, or indeed sausage baps.

Footy do what I do and send someone else for you! Then they have to make the decisions and you get a delicious sandwich

Some advice, don't go near a Starbucks to avoid a similar situation but with coffee.

Good choice console. Chicken and Bacon ranch is my favourite as well - even if you have to take out a bank loan to buy one. I used to save up stamps on the sub club card then reap the profits with a chicken and bacon footlong. then they stopped the cards recently, so I don't go as much anymore

I don't mind the choice its the fact that the options aren't clear. I don't know what the * some of that stuff is.

And it smells bad.
