As a fact (although whether it's interesting or not is up to debate), did you know that when we see a tree (or any object) on TV it looks exactly the same colour as a real tree would look (assuming correct colour, contrast and brightness settings and that you're using a colour TV of course), whereas if a dog (or pretty much any other animal for that matter) looked at the tree on TV the colours would look completely different to what the dog see's in real life? This is because the cones in our (human) eyes are set to receive specific colours, which we know as the primary colours (Red, Green and Blue), but for dogs (and other species) the cones respond to different levels of light and therefore perceive different colours. So, as the TV is set for human levels (with Red , Green and Blue) any creature without the correct cone levels will not see the correct colours.
