(I wasn't going to start this thread yet, but since Zoot has mentioned the Wogan single in the Ask Aled forum, I figured it was probably about time we got things off the ground.)
Sooo.. I have not really cared much in recent years who was gonna get the top spot since it seems that Mr Cowell was destined to win before the year had even begun, however, it sounds like there is a feeling of discontent this year against The X Factor getting to number one.
I have heard rumblings that Peter Kay will be getting Geraldine to release another single, aiming to beat the X Factor in the race to the top. From Peter Kays website: "Geraldine McQueen, the newly crowned champion of Britain's Got the Pop Factor... and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice has called upon the services of Steve Penk to help get one over on X-Factor creator Simon Cowell."
On top of that, Mr Sir Terrence of Wogan (off of 'Radio Two / Eurovision / Children in Need' fame) and Aled Jones (off of 'I'm Walking In The Air / The Snowman' fame) will be trying to get their version of Little Drummer Boy to the number one. The single will be released on 8th December in aid of Children in Need.
Who will make it? Do you just love the same crap that The X Factor farts out each year? Is there anyone else you would rather see up the top? If you could make any of the old number ones get back to the coveted place, who would it be?
Obviously I shall take this opportunity to kick of my 'Wogan for Christmas' campaign. It's for Children in Need dontcha know?
So that means I want Wogan at number one, Peter Kay in number two, a random in number three and Cowell at number four.
