Well tomorrow i need to get up at sparrow fart to go to hospital.

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a few months ago, but because I may have had it for several years before diagnosis, I need to be thoroughly checked out.

So I go under general anaestethic so that they can give me a full external & internal (eww) exam. 8O

Apparently one in 250,000 people die when under, so my chances are quite good of making it through.

If I don't - cheerio & all that, it's been great making all your acquaintences :D

If I do, i'll speak to y'all on saturday.

Toodle pip.

Ere, we don't like that kind of talk round yer!!

All went well thanks guys n gals - weird experience one minute awake, then not, then awake.
Been groggy all day but sound.

Actually Boboff, i don't need to inject, i'm type two and can manage via diet & exercise.
My insulin manufacture is either crap or crap quality.

I got into the place at sparrow fart - around 7am - but didn't get zonked & prodded til 4pm. Still at least I had BBC 1 to watch all sodding day.
Isn't that man who presents that car boot/auction show annoying?

Anyway - even though i are a lovely, i'm not queer, not that that's a bad thing, most of my boyfriends are queer. Oops.

Thank goodness most of my operations have been first thing in the morning. I remember one was at about noon, so I sat in the day room all morning watching This Morning, getting more and more nervous and starving as well, nightmare...glad it all went well for you BG. No matter how much surgery you have, it's always a bit nerve-wracking in my experience.

I had an operation when I was younger, thought I was booked in for the morinng so had to do the whole 'no eating' thing etc - only to get 2 the hospital to be told it wasnt being done until the afternoon!

I don't think I've ever had an operation.. I did have gas and air once though, that was nice.

I was actually quite alarmed at the quantity of white anomalous liquid that was pumped into my veins - there i was telling him who i'd tak with me around the world when i won the loddery and wallop. I was out. But when i awoke Nurse Annabelle was there to gently coax me out of la la land. Which really was nice

I don't believe you've only had it twice... you've probably had it so many times that it has no effect on you now.

I've never had anaesthetic. I'd quite like to have that experience one day, but maybe I should count myself lucky!

Also, jocky85, whatever opinion you may have of using 'lol', it is against the forum rules. Just thought I'd warn you!

Sorry - is it bad I didnt notice I'd typed it? its become force of habit from msn etc - I do try and keep it in touch, I noticably avoided it in another post, but apologies if it does slip out! I'm enjoying becoming a part of this forum - even though I am still a newbie!

You could do what I do... stop using it totally. It's an absolute abomination.

Im working on it - I usually use it to convey that I'm joking about something, otherwise I can sound harsh when I dnt mean to.

I got knocked out by a friendly surgeon in 2007 and it was quite an interesting experience all round.
