I am sure there is a topic alerady for this but I couldn't find it.

Anyway, I am due for my upgrade as form yesterday and I cannot decide between 2 phones. The iPhone or the HTC HD2. iPhone is good for apps etc but every other person I see has one. The HTC HD2 has a bigger screen, running Windows Mobile 6.5 but not as many apps.

I have a iPod touch which I was given for my birthday in August so I think it's still to new to make redundant with an iPhone. I have looked at several sites comparing the two and they come out with very similar ratings.

Has anyone here got the HTC?

HTCs are awsome, I wanted to get one when I worked at Orange, but they where out of stock!

I think pretty much any phone you get these days will make your iPod touch redundant as they all have built in MP3 players and it saves carrying two about.

I personally (if you want to be with Vodafone(I think they are the only network that provide them) get the Nokia N900, it is stupidly awsome.

I have to carry 3 things at the moment, iPod, Personal mobile and work mobile. I don't mind it to much really as it's only during to and from work I have all 3 on me. at work my iPod is on my desk and usually leave my personal phone at my desk. Anyone got any experiance with Windows Mobile?

I will have a look at that Nokia. Thanks DD!

Oh, a phone thread - I wonder what foot-loose might recommend...

Put it this way: there's a reason every other person you see has an iPhone.

No no - I see your logic there Mr Duck, but you do actually get some intelligent straight folk as well. They also own the phone of dReams.

phew! I thought the mrs was gay for a minute!

Iphone is out dated now. Even the 3Gs is 4 year old technology! But they do work very well and any old idiot can work them with ease!

HTC do awesome phones, iphone is equally as awesome but I would advise against buying one as there is a new version in the pipework that will handle true multitasking along with a kick ass processor and increased battery life.

Any suggestions/recommendations? I currently have my eye on the new Sony Ericsson Vivaz

Windows Mobile sucks major donkey dick. Avoid it at all costs.

Trust me, I may not have one but I'm forever being asked by our sales guys to fix theirs. Even factoring in the well known fact that sales guys are morons - especially when it comes to IT - these things are seriously bad.

The iPhone isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it does a lot of useful things really well nonetheless. It also does a lot of useless things too, but they're mostly fun. And yes, it doesn't do some really basic things. No flash on your browser is REALLY annoying, and I'm finding the non-multitasking stuff especially annoying since I started using the TuneIn Radio app - if someone texts me the radio cuts off if I go to answer it.

Does the TuneIn Radio App allow you to listen to radio 1? That was a big black mark against the iPhone for me.

Yup.

Although I've been downloading and listening to the show daily through my iPhone for years now. Nae signal problems on the underground AND I can run other apps at the same time.

*feels smug*

That's not easy to answer. Basically, download it then sync it as an MP3.

I generally listen to the show from the day before (I left that bit out my smug post cos it's not so cool...)

iPhone, definitly an iPhone. Once you get one, you'll never look at another phone again.

Ahhh.... fair enough. I tend not to go back and listen if I haven't heard it live unless I'm looking for something in specific.
