I could not eat curry for breakfast. I love a good curry, but my stomach is quite delicate and wouldn't cope with the oil and spices at that time of the day. I can do a cooked breakfast, but I normally just have fruit.

I don't think I will ever understand this... if you like something, why does it matter what time of day you have it?

I'm quite pernickety about eating/drinking certain things at certain times of the day, but I think it's mainly psychological.

Its practical too. Your digestion isn't going to be able to cope with certain things as well first thing in the morning, when the metabolism is at its slowest, as it can do later in the day when its been kick started a bit.

Exactly Yuds. I get indigestion etc very easily, and like I say, the oil and spices would just be too heavy for me. About 3yrs ago an acid reflux attack resulted in me spending four days doubled over in pain, unable to keep a sip of water down, so I'm very cautious about my eating patterns. Toph, you're young and hardy - I only started with these problems when I hit 30!

I've always advocated hot food at any time of day, but then again i'm not a big fan of cereal - the spice factor doesn't really enter into my thoughts, as most of my meals are rife with spices.

But leftover curry is a very different beast : the sauce thickens, and the meat becomes tougher...much better to be mixed with rice and enjoyed as a 'paella/buriyani' style dish

Pffft. Bunch of wussys.

Although I get Nic's stance on things, if its proven to be a problem past tense, then yea, avoid. But for those 'ard-core dedicated curry lovers, nowt wrong with Madrass @ breakfast. nice garlic n corriander naan with it..... Mmmmmmmmmm.

I blame my parents. They've both always suffered with indigestion and the like, and my dad's had stomach ulcers too, so I inherited my digestion issues from them. They swig Gaviscon straight from the bottle (I wish I was exaggerating, but I'm not).

Your parents and you should all get tested for Helicobacter, the bacteria that has been proven to cause the vast majority of stomach ulcers. Its easily diagnosable (the test is non invasive, they can detect it from a breath sample) and easily treated, and has saved millions of people from a world of pain and problems so far.

My dad has virtually no stomach lining left after years of taking anti-inflammatories, so when he was treated for the internal bleeding caused by that, they probably tested for bacteria and whatnot too. But I probably should, yeah...when I saw the doc after that acid reflux attack she seemed strangely unconcerned about my persistent indigestion.

I'm trying to work out a funny way to point out that Whiskey is actually not the same as Whisky - but I can't. So Tim, Whiskey is Irish, Whisky is Scottish. Foot loose is still illiterate and you apparently are racist.

Well, every day is a school day, eh?! I never knew that. Is that 'cos all Scots are illiterate, hence the wrong spelling?

And i'm not racist, thanks. My mums best friend, her daughter used to live next to someone who married someone who's cousin worked with a lady who once met a black person. So how could I be racist?! :D :?
