I'd like to say a big Thank you to Footloose!! I have just received my copy of Airplane off him (with a free Kit Kat!) I had completely forgot that he was going to send that so I am going to start watching that in a minute I think.

He sent you those? Wow. Kudos to him. He's a great poster on the forums as well. Probably need to respect him as I'm only a newbie still compared to everyone else :D

They did a gag in homage to Airplane on How I Met Your Mother last Thursday:

During an ongoing discussion on who can get to a particular restaurant first:

Barney: ...I've got a way to get there so fast that I could beat all of you, even if I sat down & ordered a big juicy stake first!
Marshall: How?
Barney: Medium rare, but that's not important right now.

:D

I finally got to see this film over Christmas & I agree it was an absolute classic, an awesome film and hopefully it'll be appreciated for many more years to come :)

I probably wouldn't have got the gag had I had not seen the film over Christmas, it probably would have passed me by as well

In reference to the HIMYM episode, that was a good one this week, they also paid homage to Sanford & Son (the loose American remake of Steptoe & Son) as well. Barney's line about sacking half his staff made me laugh as well if only because it shows what a shallow bastard he can be at times.

Gaspode_The_Wonder_Dog wrote:Blimey is he still pulling that "give me your address and I will send you chocolate" line?

The Met Police warn us about people like that quite often down here ;)

It was a great episode, one of the best (up there with Girls Vs Suits, The Perfect Week & Slapbet) especially for the Maury Povitch gag, Barney's tackle (ooh-er missus), the gag about sacking half his staff to double his salary (one of the reasons Barney did not need a win that week), "the machines have won", "Elizabeth!" and Ranjeet (Hello!) :D

Only the opener so far has been weak, then again it does set up this series in particular this time round.

"Stopping the car." "not stopping the car" i love Raj. I'm eagerly awaiting the last (2?) slap bets as well. And i have a theory that there will be 10 seasons like friends

Yeah he's great, one reviewer said he's the most underused character in the series.

There's only one slap to go unfortunately, the episodes the slaps have appeared in are:

Slap #1: Slap Bet (Series 2, Episode 9)
Slap #2: Stuff (Series 2, Episode 16)
Slap #3: Slapsgiving (Series 3, Episode 9)
Slap #4: Slapsgiving 2: Revenge Of The Slap (Series 5, Episode 9)

The fifth slap is rumoured to be appearing this series, apparently

Yeah I'd have thought so. They wont keep it going that long. It hasn't happened yet though. By the way something really sad happens in a few episodes time but i wont spoil it for you.

And I've just realised the new episode is on in America tonight so I'll be able to watch that tomorrow :)

That's fine usually when I'm told what's about to happen it doesn't spoil it for me to be honest, I'm guessing you're referring to episode 13 then.
