I don't know the difference between the CPU's, but would be worth checking and comparing their performance. Other than that, both specs seem almost identical. So only other thing i'd do is to try and have at look at both in a store/shop as they will have different keyboard.

I'm very surprised the Samsung doesn't have WiFi. Are you sure that's right?

I believe the "WLAN" means Wireless LAN for the Samsung.

I don't see that much of a difference between them, so Bob, I'd have a look at both and see if you prefer the looks/layout of either of them and go for it.

Oh yeah. Oops. What a stupid thing for me to say.

The processors are getting a bit outdated now, but I would go for the Pentium. It is known as ‘Intel’s premium chip’, whereas Celeron is pretty basic. The newer ‘Intel i_ core’ processors are much better.
Out of the two, I would buy the Acer laptop. However, you may want to consider a Toshiba Satellite C660-10D. Similar in price, but is also a good make.

I'd go for the Samsung, just because I've dealt with Acers and don't like them (the batteries don't last long). Having said this, I've never used a Samsung laptop, but they are a name I would like to think I could trust.

I'd start with your brand/manufacturer first, then a model, because otherwise it gets too confusing. Too many different models. Acer and Samsung are kinda cheap brands...Dell are decent but probably not as cheap. Probably not the best to give advice; never bought a PC.

My laptop is Fujitsu/Siemens too..... Although my laptop is a pain in the arse, as when I bought it I also wanted it for gaming so bought a massive 19" screen one, which is good when using it, but is very heavy so I often get a sweat on with it in transit.

We've got loads of old ones at work (Fujitsu Siemens) and they're still battling on, so Fujitsu was the first name on my list.

Yeah, i've only had one problem with mine in the last four n half years 've had it, and that was down to being dropped from table height, so can't really blame the laptop.

At my school they still have a load of these:

RM One (Newer)

RM All-In-One (Older)

RM Fixed-Spec PC (Older)

RM Fixed-Spec PC (Newer) - (The school shown isn't mine)

All the older ones have Intel Celeron processors, and 0.5GB RAM. Tip - when buying a computer/laptop ect, avoid anything with an Intel Celeron processor. Celeron is known as Intel's budget processor, and it shows.

Woah, I swear those RM machines are what is given away via those Tesco vouchers. At my school we have Dells and systems just like that - a desktop/separate monitor setup. Not many all-in-ones at all.

The All-in-Ones are slowly dying out, being replaced by 'Pro-Lite'/Xerox Monitors, with 'Stone Computers' towers.

We have all of the above in various suites around the school. I hate RM Ones, there're a nightmare to get into when you have to fix something. Our all-in-ones are slowly dieing and will be replaced very soon with some money we have to spend before the end of the year. Then it's no new PCs for us for the forseeable future.
