I'm also 'none of the above'. A nice apple pie does it for me.

They aren't 'puddings' though, not in the traditional sense.
He should have included Steak n Kidney though.

I chose what I could think of at the time and cheesecake doesn't count because as Zoot says, it's not a traditional pudding.

Well that's a whole other debate. Cream is so clearly better than custard. And it has to be runny cream, not squirty or whipped.

Squirty cream tastes horrid and fake. I will accept that clotted cream can be included in the acceptable cream list, but definitely not squirty.

On treacle sponge - which was my choice - any crap poured over it other than more golden syrup (because I'm assuming that when Topher said "treacle" he meant "syrup", not the bitter black stuff which is actually treacle) is just wrong. Custard is rank anyway, and cream is just boring.

True, but a steamed sponge with syrup is generally referred to as a treacle sponge, is it not?

Only by people who don't know that treacle and syrup are different things. I knew what you meant though and I love them.

Most restaurants I've been to refer to them as treacle sponge. Anyway - Charlalottie, yes but I forgot crumbles.
