Channel 4 +1 logo moves out of 4:3 safe mode. Whose stupid idea was this?

What the * are you on about?

This genuinely made me laugh out loud, but the main question I have to ask is WHO THE * CARES?!

Firstly, I hadn't noticed this, and I don't really care much for the channel logos or messages you see (think E4 sometimes do this).

However, I wonder if their purpose is so that any recording taken off the channels has their little logo/signature. Can be annoying recording a film or something, but after a while I just don't notice them then either.

Tell it to Charlie Brooker! Outrage!!
Speaking of the fascinating world of logos.... you don't get regional news on the BBC if you have HD at the moment! It's like Life on Mars or something. You just get this screen:

Probably for the best!

When I hear 'pirate' radio station i can't help thinking of some blokes with eye patches and parrots doing a radio station.
Guess Blackbeard has to do something with his time...

I speak to the bloke in my cornershop quite often & he said he's lucky if he sells 1 a day, not surprised it's ceased trading, I'm surprised however that it's lasted as long as it has.

I think The People will be the next one to go, no one reads that one either.

Still (was) sold in London but I suppose that's probably because the head office is located London, either that or the delivery driver was a bit thick and never made it past the M25 ;)

The Sport knew exactly what it was and had fun with it. The Sun and The Mail are far more dangerous as they stir up trouble and create divisions.

The only time I've ever seen The People was in the foyer of the radio station I volunteered at, and I think that was only because they were trying to seem multicultural...

To be fair to the Sport ( & i also thought it had closed down years ago), its ads were far more interesting that the Sanatogen, Big Slipper, George Formby box sets & Stannah Stairlift ones that cater to the Daily Mirror or Sunday People readership.

Well, nobody really wants to work on Salford Quays. Also, who?

Perhaps we should just create one big thread where Zenon can post all his strange news items about channel logos, pirate radio stations, etc.

We did - it's called "Oh No, They've Died!" Or something like that.
