I was listening to him on some station before (Magic or Real Radio?) and he was the epitome of cheesy DJ. I don't remember him being that bad on Radio 1 he was doing a feature "10 best roads you have driven on" which included the M4 and the road home after work...

I don't remember ever thinking Wes was awful, I've always been surprised at the things that get said about him. He seemed all right to me.

Yeah, I remember thinking he was just an average DJ, and then after he went there seemed to be loads of comments about how awful he'd been, I sort of thought maybe I'd missed something. Was his surname Butters? That seems funny now in the context of South Park.

With hindsight, I do remember that I sometimes had difficulty telling him and Scott Mills apart - but that was back in the day when Mills was actually good.

I do have a bit of a liking for the QE2 bridge these days.

I love the QE2 Bridge too, its beautiful. My favourite bit of road however is the A1(M) where it goes north past Peterborough way - because that's where I know I have a good chance of seeing a Red Kite, one of the rarest birds in Britain, flying around. They were extinct in England up to a few years ago and they are totally spectacular to see.

I have never really listened to Wes so I can't comment.

QE2 is nice on a clear day so you can see London, but I hate it on a Friday Afternoon.
A road I use daily is the Balcome Road which runs between Crawley and Haywards Heath, on a clear run it is such fun to drive.
