There is a rubbish web host, Portland, but if you're only looking for a free one then I would go for them, 'cos you get 15MB of web space, Colour Statistics, Full CGI Access, Multiple Email forwardings, No banners or pop up adverts, Support for all domain names, including nu, cx, to & cc, Subdomains of portland.co.uk & port5.com also available (not copied and pasted at all.)

While were at it, I am looking for a host (currently on Portland) and would like to pay a yearly fee of probably not more than £50 (less if possible), not a lot of bandwith really, its only for the MK table tennis league (laugh all you want :)).

I did ask Morals' technical bloke for TICOC but his suggestion was a bit expensive.

What kind of website are you trying to make, if it contains lots of images and files to d/l then you shouldnt go with a run of the mill free site.

If you don't want to pay though you will probably have been given some webspace from your ISP (depending who you are with). E.g NTLWorld gives me 50MB free.

Its really a site about me and thats why i dont want to spend much money on it lol.

Its ok to spend money like my ex does because he is doing it to try to sell a product and so that will pay for his subscription

http://www.woaf.net

10MiB HDD Quota
Full SSH Access
Web site [http://username.woaf.net/] with cgi-bin and PHP4 support
Range of development tools including gcc, g++ and vim
MySQL server account and access
Unlimited POP3 mail accounts @username.woaf.net
Unlimited email aliases @username.woaf.net
Domain hosting (if required)

£12 a year (well £1 a month but you can pay per year) - they are very good. This is the base linux shell package but would be suitable for webhosting. Unlimited bandwidth aswell.

Extra 10mb is only 50p a month.

Some people on my course got about 50MB totally free web space with no banners or ads or anything. Can't remember where that was now. The only catch was they didn't get a domain name, only an IP address.

I use .htm because I think it looks better, extensions are generally three characters long. They both work though.
