barefoot, makes you gnarly. i think both bands are sorta overrated. wait, they REALLY are overrated. people remember the beatles' hype better than the music. they weren't really #1 for the entire 60s, people like to remember it that way. the rolling stones did do alot of racy stuff, but in hindsight, they were pretty tame. and as far as song writing goes, there were better bands.

ray davies wrote better lyrics...

o i hav sumthin 2 add 2 my previous post. kendra k accordin 2 ur poll (in which i gave my own opinion) ur fat, ignorant and loud as ur an american. howeva every1 is entitled 2 their opinion. also the rolling stones, the beatles, the who, the kinks and queen (among many others) prove that the UK is better than USA musically.

immyG, you are new and know nothing about me. i will let your ignorance slide.

i did not say america was better musically, did i? in fact my counter point was british (my other one would have been townshend). all those band emulated american acts, no? oh wait, they did.

i think the kinks and the who deserve more credit in some areas, as do the yardbirds, herman's hermits, the animals, the honeycombs, peter and gordon, and more.

in that case, from your tx spk, we can assume you are a dropout who speaks like ali g, drives a done up nova and picks his g/f up from kindergarten every day before driving her round a small village at 100mph

 just joking obviously

I could name loads of great Beatles songs, I'd find it hard to name one great Rolling Stone song.

it's cos the beatles' catalogue is much smaller. name great mccartney songs, you can't cos he's a wanker.

kendra you just have a closed mind towards mccartney. the truth is being popular isnt a bad thing. also if sir paul is reading give everton some money....

i have listened to his solo stuff and wings, and it's just so bland. isn't he from the everton side of the mersey, yet he supports liverpool? isn't that grounds enough to hate him?

summary:

mccartney good, lennon better

gr8 stones songs - get off of my cloud, cant get no satisfaction, brown sugar, angie, jumping jack flash, 19th nervous breakdown, the last time, you cant always get what you want, start me up, don't stop, mixed emotions, anybody seen my baby?, it's only rock 'n' roll

bridgie - dont b stupid a) im not old enough to drop out yet and b) im not old enough to drive (i know youre joking by the way)

mccartney's money should come to the mighty ipswich town

on a tangent:
people shuld leave heather mills alone. if sir paul loves her and choose to marry her the press shuld just leave her and stop comparin her to linda

I've never heard of any of those Stones songs you mentioned. Also, I prefere Paul's solo stuff to John's solo stuff.

Ow come on you must no "I can't get no satisfaction" the one thats goes....

I can't get no satisfaction, I can't get no satisfaction
'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no

and when Britney did her version at the MTV award by stripping out of that suit.

What about 'you can't always get what you want?' i think it may have been used in a BT advert or an advert of some sort.
"you cant always get what you want, you always get what you want , but if you try sometime you might just find you get what you need"
and get off of my cloud -
"hey (hey) you (you) get off of my cloud"
also just because you havnt heard of them doesn mean they are not great.
you should download some of them or buy 'forty licks' the greatest hits.

i agree wit dis they deserve more credit than they get however they dont deserve as much credit as the stones or the beatles.

now im not hugely familiar wit the who and the kinks back catalogues but

good songs from the kinks - Lola (feckin ace), Waterloo Sunset (good), you really got me (legendary) and all day and all of the night (very good)

good songs from the who - my generation (OMG - one of the best songs ever), the kids are alright (good), pinball wizard (superb)

i like all of the songs above. very much. please tell me others of the same quality from these bands because i want to hear them. but they are still not as good as the stones or the beatles (not sure if this is what u were saying but if u were this is my counter argument)
