(http://www.bigredh.com). It's like napster but not just for music. It's not an FTP or HTTP service so the isp shouldn't catch on...you could set it up to run for a few hours over night...<P>I've got decent webspcae, but like everyone else...not much (only 40MB). My mate has got half a gig, but I've managed to half-inch a lot of that for my own site  :)<P>Just an idea...<P>M

Oh yeah...I've got a USB Radio on my machine at work...you can set it to record at certain times to mp3 automatically.<P>Also at work we got a big fat 2 meg ADSL line  :)<P>(no hotline though...I'd get in trouble!)

Hotline is crap. For a Napster-like program, try WinMX. But sharing programs isn't how I really see this going. Is the USB radio any good? I'm thinking of getting the one from dabs.com for about £25.<P>the_dr

I've got a lot of space to use. I was thinking, couldn't you winace or winrar the files, then zip them? not sure how much that would take off the size.<P>About the legal thingy, copyright laws arn't universal.

Zipping and Raring and Aceing doesn't work - mp3s are already compressed. It will only take off 1% maximum. Try it, go on, and then try zipping a txt file or an image. See the difference.<P>the_dr

I know just zipping does, but I haven't tried raring or acing, I'll take your word for it<P>doesn't make much of a difference anyway, as long as there's someone with a speedy connection to upload.<P>why not have 6 free hosts, one for each day, then offer anonymous uploads & downloads via FTP to each.

A 128kbit/s mp3'd show with all the songs edited out takes up about 79Mb of space.<P>BUT wittling it down to 32Kbit/s <I>(which is still of reasonable quality as i record off my minidisc player, which has a minidisc recording from my stereo, which, in turn, has excellent reception)</I> and zipping it up gives a file of about 16Mb. I could hold files like this on a "20m.com" account, and i must point out this particular show - which i edited out of curiosity because i was wondering how easy it would be to do - consisted of over 74minutes with the songs edited out. Similarly, this was a show with more than average talking on it.<P>16Mb shouldn't take too long to download/upload & I could do one show/week. It can work, & as the dr said a while back, this would prove an excellent addition to reviews etc. <P>The dr also seems as though he has quite a good idea about streaming, which i know nothing about, and, if possible, would be a lot easier than downloading a 16Mb file!<br>

Well, I'm not sure what exactly you're asking. But I record the entire show into 2 minidiscs. Disc 1 runs from 3pm till 5pm, and the 2nd 5pm till 5:45. I then listen to the recording the next day at work. Hence it's virtually like listening to Moyles at work instead of Leicester Sound that the stereo is always tuned to. When I hear a good bit on the minidisc, I make a track mark. Then when I come in, I hook my player to my pc, record it in and encode it. What ever it is you're asking I only have 10 meg of web space and 56k connection. What exactly are you suggesting?<P>Paul.
