This is going to be good. 26th July, Brass Eye Special.
It looks like Cook'd 'n Bomb'd were wrong - the show is about paedophillia, according to todays NME. Neil from CNB said that the BE Special wasn't about Paedophiles, but the internet. It is actually about both. Celebrities duped:
Richard Blackwood
Phil Collins
Dr Fox
Kate Thornton.
Also, Chris Morris asks a 'paedophile' held in stocks "Do you want to have sex with my son?". Just watch for the tabloid onslaught, like lambs to the slaughter. Interesting, also, that this comes after the pathetic Corronation Street storyline. Perhaps BE will go someway to highlight the real criminals in paedophillia - the tabloid media. Can't wait.
the_dr
Yes: they fall hook line and sinker. Go to http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk and download a few episodes. Or watch it on Channel 4 on Thurdays.
the_dr

""""""""It looks like Cook'd 'n Bomb'd were wrong - the show is about paedophillia, according to todays NME. Neil from CNB said that the BE Special wasn't about Paedophiles, but the internet"""""""""
I was under the impression the cookandbombd story was a clever diversionary tactic to draw attention away from what the show really was about. And for good reason too seeing that, according to the BBC, Phil Collins is now threatening legal action against Channel 4.
And from the BBC website here is a hysterical quote from Richard Blackwood on what has happened:
"Well I guess the joke is on us and also on every other charity working in the field of child protection."
"If you think that kiddie porn is funny you should have a good laugh."
Clearly missing the point of the show. I am really looking forward to watching Blackwood make a fool of himself.
But Capital DJ Dr Fox?! I wonder how close Morris came to doing a hoax on Moyles. Considering his horrible (but very funny) Chris Moyles suicide sketch from Blue Jam it wouldn’t have surprised me. The again maybe he likes Moyles and the Blue Jam thing was a tribute.
Morris is getting the very same anti-paedo hysteria he satirises in the show!- wonder if he planned all this to happen........
But will it ever get shown now?
-----
This and more reaction including lots of quotes from Phil Collins below:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/entertainment/tv_and_radio/newsid_1445000/1445870.stm
i've just been reading a bit on that site, that guy sounds like a genius. Especially that bit about the MP bringing up an issue with a non-existant drug into parliament.
Which is the best episode to download?

Well you can forget about downloading the last 3 epsiodes [Sex, Crime and Moral decline] as they are due to be repeated on Channel 4 tomorrow, next Thursday, and the Thursday after.
The three that you have missed are Drugs, Animals and Bad Science. I'd go for the Drugs one myself.
dindong: Very interesting. There have been so many differing reports on this BE Special it has become confusing. You think Neil was in on the hoax? This is my explanation:
Morris makes the BE Special a 'peado-geddon', then shows it to Channel 4 who put it back in the schedules. Eventually, it is ready to be shown, Channel 4 runs trailers suggesting it's about paedophillia, then Morris tells Channel 4 it's not ready yet. At this point Morris expects tabloid backlash - how dare he make a comedy about paedophillia? But nothing happens. He pulls it from the schedules to increase nutoritiy, doesn't work. All that happens is his fans get pisseed off and demand for the show to shown. Morris' plan has failed. He wanted tabloid backlash to provide more material for the show, but all he got was his liberal fans wanting to see the show.
Maybe by doing this he was examining how the media can hype-things, presume things about something that doesn't exist. Maybe. The tape that Neil was sent, very strange. He posted his version of the truth, according to this unfinished edit he was sent - no peadophillia. Maybe he was making it all up. Within hours he has quite a few replies on the message board, including one person who has also seen a tape which IS about paedophillia. Neil promises to get the tape on the net ASAP. Hours later (Friday evening, as I was reading the msg board) it was taken down with the message 'As of Friday night this board has been closed for a while, sorry, but this isn't our choice. I'm not about to let this site be pulled over a potential legal mess.'
He later changes this message saying that promising to upload the tape was the most stupid thing he has ever done. Days later the message board came back up, with the other bloke who has seen a tape's messages removed. TJ, or whatever he name is, the other contributer to Cook'd 'n Bomb'd leaves for good after recieving loads of abusive emails, presumably from people wanting to see the video. Neil says 'lets just wait to see it on TV'.
So: this leaves a few questions:
Who sent the tape? Why?
Which is the real tape?
Is Neil lying or telling the truth?
What 'legal issues'? Breaking enbargoes before the show is broadcast? Or lawsuits?
Why does the NME article mention 'fans posted messages'? Is that part of the show?
How is it going to be presented - will it focus on the net, as widely reported?
July 26th is when these questions will be answered, well at least some.
Jim Bob, the man is a genius. He has a twisted mind, as shown in Blue Jam - from the 4-year-old girl who tells a grown man to chop up the pieces of a dead man and put them in the bucket to the day when kilroy goes mad in a shopping centre - running around naked. I too recommend the drugs episode, as Bernard Manning says: "It's a fuc.kin disgrace". Download some Blue Jam stuff.
the_dr

that sketch with the girl telling the bloke to chop up the dead body was v. funny. I also liked the one about the doctor who was obviously operating a dirty phone line for women, and got loads of calls during when he was seeing patients. "yes, yes. yes my massive hard. ..." i'll leave it to your imagination

Get real A (the?) Mark And Lard Fan,
OK then, which you rather watch? A weak, biased, anti-Internet Corronation Street storyline appealing to the lowest common demonenator? A patronising, right-wing, homophobic, "we broadcast anything that the Daily Mail does" Tonight With Trevor McDonald "report" on Internet paedophillia? Or an intellegent, well-observed satire on the stupid campaigns ran by the News Of The World? Or would you just rather the whole issue was brushed under the carpet?
Yes - the program is gratuitous, it is a comedy, it is shocking, it does take the pee of minor celebrities - but it makes people thik. It gives them an alternative to the knee-jerk reactionary right-wing tabloid press who demonise and scare-monger at the drop of a hat. And how dare you suggest Morris is in any way pretencious - when you are a fan of Mark & Lard, they are so far up their own behinds it's unbeliveable.
Watch the Brass Eye special and you WILL laugh, not matter how much you think you are 'above all that immature sniggering'. There you go, mission accomplished. I refuse to argue any more.
the_dr

u sad geek...
I think I may watch it now, cause I don't approve of criticizing without watching - so I'll watch with an open mind.
Not like the_dr who's convinced it's going to be brilliant; poor deluded fool who's brainwashed by the drivel in elitist liberal broadsheets....think for yourself, please !!!!
I don't tell you what to watch, I'm just saying that I'm looking forward to it, and I personally, am a fan of the show. I would understand your 'think for yourself' statement if I was talking about some crappy, mainstream BBC1 sitcom. Also, please don't confuse 'intellegent' with 'ellitist' - visit The Corpses site if you want to read about ellitism in comedy.
the_dr
