Seein how Germany have adopted 3 lions, i very much doubt Badiel skinner and the lightening seeds will re-release it.

Ananova wrote:Version of 1990 hit is England's new anthem

The FA has picked a version of the 1990 hit All Together Now by The Farm as England's official Euro 2004 anthem.

The tune has been remixed by Radio 1's DJ Spoony - and features additional vocals by a boys' choir from Liverpool.

Spoony played the track on Radio 1 this morning but it's not being released officially until May 31.

He said: "The song is a classic and I'm a massive England fan, so when the FA asked me to get involved, I couldn't believe my luck."

The Farm's Peter Hooton originally wrote the song about the Christmas Day truce during World War One, when British and German soldiers played football in No Man's Land.

He said: "The fact that the greatest game in the world had momentarily united the soldiers was the reason I wanted to capture the spirit of that day in the lyrics.

"It's a fantastic honour to have our song chosen to be the official England anthem."

It's a great record but I've never really seen it as any kind of football anthem. I also couldn't tell the difference from the original (bar a few commentary clips) when Spoony played it this morning on Scott Mills' show.

I am gutted. One of my favorite songs of all time, and they go and make it the bloody English Euro 2004 anthem. Being Scottish I have a natural hatred of the English football team.

In the words of Boyce, I - am - gutted.

I actually can't notice that much of a diference though, differnt players names get shouted out on the 98 version to the 96 version but thats all I noticed. Anymore?

The changed some of the lyrics.

I am going to be controversial and say I don't particularly like that song. I like some of their other stuff, but I guess I am just sick of this one.
