Yep one of the girls in my office was boasting bout how guys always pay for the 1st date. Just wondering..... I always at least offer to go halfers. Can only remember one guy who actually took me up on it tho.

Bet he didn't last long.

I normally try to pay for most things and certainly did/ do on first date but sometimes she insists..

Yeah but it can be awkward sometimes. Some guys get really peeved if you offer to pay but think you are at it if you don't. I find it difficult to know what to do esp when you are with a guy you like and you know he doesn't make too much money. Its even more awkward if you are working and he is a student.

Has anyone actually run out on a bill? My girlfriend suggested it the other day and I found myself strangely aroused....

First date - girl should offer to pay half but the guy should always refuse and pay himself.

Old fashioned good manners 8)

I laughed at the bit before that myself. The bit where he said he had a girlfriend.

Depends on the girl tho. I ALWAYS know where I want to go and what I want to see if we're going to the cinema and my boyfriend usually agrees mind you guess he knows what side his breads buttered :)

Question for the guys..... is it true that 50% of what a guy says to a girl in the 1st month is bollocks?

I don't think so to be honest - you'll always get found out afterwards, so there's not really any point unless you're only after a few shags - but then you've got to work out whether that's bollocks or not eh?

Depends on the guy and the girl I guess. Personally I've never been able to lie to someone I actually liked, but at the same time I know guys that do, they think they're being clever but others see straight through it all.

Hell I couldn't even tell a simple lie to one girl I grew to almost hate in the time we were together (long story short: me on rebound, she came on to me, I let it happen, then after a while she got completely obsessed).. the lie would have been to say I loved her, but I was hoping to move on anyways so didn't bother me when she ended it.

Yep but have you never agreed with a girl you really liked when you've 1st meet to impress her. Not talking about huge lies just like you really enjoyed that chick flick you went to see etc.

Nah I try and be open and my girlfriend loves that about me, closest I've got in the film situation was (be warned, this sounds soooo corny)
"I didn't think much to the film, but the company was fantastic"
(can't remember what film now, it was a while ago).

If I can't be honest to her I say nothing at all....

I lie like a f***er to friends and family though...
