Im now on XP (again) but having problems playing mpegs on it. When I play a video file, it restarts my PC.

Anyone have any ideas.

Shouldn't rule out there being a virus binded with the video that your trying to play,
Do other videos work?

If they did and it was a virus, they probably won't now.. It does sound like a virus to me, run something like AVG free on it ( http://www.grisoft.com/ )

The mpeg played ok when I was on ME, its only when I changed to xp it stopped playing.

Just looking at the error report, it may be something to do with my windows auto update.

It's the most stable version of Windows I've ever used, and I've used them all since 3.0.

There's hardly any software compatable with Linux.

an alternative Operating System to Windows.

It has an open source code so it's great for hackers and is very adaptable. Trouble is there's far less software available that actually works with Linux.
