Whoops. The Edge in Canada have just played Speed of Sound in full.

Poor Radio 1 and their World Exclusive. Brilliant song, though.

I think Coldplay are massively over-rated, but Clocks is an amazing song. Chris Martin is an egotistical arsehole.

Also, SOS has been leaked onto the net already.

It's been over-hyped to high heaven, just like the band themself, who are only liked by indie boys, fashion press and girls.

'Girls' make up 50% of the population. I'd say about 5% of the UK are 'indie boys' and about 1% the "fashion press". If my maths skills are correct then, according to you, about 56% of the population like Coldplay. Assuming that you're none of these things, you're in the minority ;).

Hype is determined by demand.

Obviously not. Well actually, now that you mention it, the readers/ supporters of the fashion press must be nearing that number? I don't know. I don't particularly care. That wasn't really my point :P!

Just because its not Moyles related doesn't mean to say it can't be placed in General. Since when was General - Moyles related only? Okay having said that - the majority of the threads are moyles related..

Sigh.. remembers the old days..

Heard the song on Lamacq tonight and it is brilliant.

Mafro wrote:Chris Martin is an egotistical arsehole.

Why do you say that? Judging by the interviews I've heard I would say he is one of the least egotistical people in the music industry.

Mafro wrote:It's been over-hyped to high heaven, just like the band themself, who are only liked by indie boys, fashion press and girls.

I have no idea where you got that from. One of the reasons they are so successful is cos they have crossover appeal - pop/rock/indie markets to all kinds of different age groups. Also, this song might be slightly overhyped but bear in mind they have been away for nearly three years...

I like how it went: 'I was speaking to Noel Gallagher from the band Oasis..'

The song is good - however you cant help but hear clocks amongst the new song, Speed of Sound.

I'm listening to it this very second, and agree with the above, it is quite similar to Clocks. I do like it though.

It's definately being overhyped by certain radio 1 DJs... how long before even they get bored of it?

It's ironic becase it was at the speed of sound that I pressed the "off" button on my Hi-Fi upon hearing the song. Lucie, love, I'd rather be in the minority than the majority of people being brainwashed by their over-exposure.
