Following our report some days ago, there have been a few reports talking about Chris's departure from his television show.

First Ananova:

Chris Moyles is being replaced as host of his TV chat show after one series.

XfM DJ Christian O'Connell will take over the programme on Five, formerly Channel 5, when it returns next month.

Live With Chris Moyles, set in a pub, was the brainchild of Chris Evans.

But ratings for the show had been less than impressive and a spokeswoman says Moyles's departure had been reached by mutual consent after discussions about his commitment to the project.

His Radio 1 show finished at 6pm and he then had to race across London in time for the TV programme's 7pm start.

It became increasingly apparent that Chris Moyles finishing at that time then going over to the studio wasn't working.

The show needed more attention from the presenter which he was unable to give because of his other commitments, the spokeswoman said.

O'Connell will take over for an eight-week run starting next month. The show will take his name but stick to the same format of games, showbiz news and audience participation.

Moyles is discussing a new weekly entertainment show for Five with Chris Evans's production company.

The Mirror reports:

RADIO 1 DJ Chris Moyles has been dropped from his TV chat show three months after it launched.

Five's Live With Chris Moyles, set in a pub, began in October with 700,000 viewers. In 12 weeks numbers fell to less than half.

An insider claimed a clash of egos between Moyles, 28, and Chris Evans, whose firm UMTV made the show, was to blame. He said: They were forever battling over who was in charge.

A Five spokesman said Moyle's (sic) departure was by mutual consent after discussions about his commitment. One problem was his Radio 1 show finished at 6pm and he had to race across London for the TV show's 7pm start.

XFM DJ Christian O'Connell will take over.
