From The Sun:
NOEL Edmonds has launched a scathing attack on Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles — branding him coarse and offensive. Mr Blobby creator Noel, 57 — who hosted the Breakfast Show himself in the 1970s — slammed his tubby successor's effort as "not very good". And he ranted: "I just wish he wasn’t so coarse. I find a lot of what he says offensive — and I don’t think it’s my age. I just think it’s not appropriate, particularly on the BBC."
Noel has made a sensational comeback after five years in the TV wilderness with a £3million contract to front Channel 4 show Deal Or No Deal. The daytime quiz pulls in four million viewers and has won a Royal Television Society gong and a Bafta nomination. He made his attack on loudmouth Moyles, 31, to Q Magazine.
But Noel did concede: “I think Chris Moyles is clearly talented. "He keeps saying wonderful things about me so it feels rather horrid to say that I don’t think his show is very good. He gets huge listening figures, so he’s doing something right."
Know-all Moyles is often in trouble for his on-air antics. Last month, he stunned listeners by calling a phone-in contestant’s children "f*****g brats". He had already told their mum, Donna from Newcastle: "Shut your face". He also called newsreader Georgina Bowman a “slut” and made anti-gay comments.
