DJ Chris Moyles has bowed out of the battle to become Radio One's breakfast show host - despite being Britain's greatest broadcaster.
And his departure leaves the door open for a daring bid by BBC bosses to land Robbie Williams as the new presenter.
Chris told Access All Areas yesterday that he was not interested in taking over from Zoe Ball when she quits the show next year.
Breaking his silence on whether he wanted the early morning role, he told AAA: To be honest, I'm not that interested. I've got a really good show at the moment and I want to keep doing it.
A BBC insider said: Given the huge profile that the breakfast show can boast now, we are considering people of the calibre of Robbie Williams. But I would not rule Chris out. We can be very persuasive at Radio One.
