For the past couple of days you will have noticed that the message board, together with the Sound Vault index and Gallery were unavailable. This was due to a planned server move taking place at an unexpected time.

Over the past months it had become clear that the server which hosted the previously mentioned parts of the site was suffering. Pages were slow to load, and overall performance was often unsatisfactory. To solve this, we – together with some other people have purchased a server which will host things going forward. You are now able to use that new machine.

Unfortunately, because of the way we access the server, pages were redirected to the new machine somewhat before it was actually ready; this is what caused the problems which you may have seen. We've been hard at work this morning to restore service, and you should now see things returned to normal – except with much increased performance and response times.
