After only 16 years of waiting, Chris has won his first gold award last night at the at the Sony Radio Academy Awards and helped Radio 1 to win the 'station of the year' prize for the first time in the awards' 24-year history.

Chris beat competition from Chris Evans and Jonathan Ross to win the award.
