Not a great show today so that means less writing. Great! The whole show is dominated by two topics, which were the Lewis VS Tyson fracas and the Pop Idol show. Chris wants to recreate the fracas in the studio but with two wimpy fella's namely BB Aled and Executive Producer Mick Meadows. Chris then change tack and want two females wrestling in jelly in a paddling pool. The males draw up a list of the Radio 1 female staff they would like to see wrestle (Hannah Brown, Jess, Emma Stanford, Ruby, Jane Graham and Sammy) Will points out that jelly comes in cubes and has to set and this process will take over 2 hours. Chris changes the rules to have a Pillow Fight outside the building in their knickers. BB Aled agrees to it provided he gets £50 but no one else agrees so Chris decides Dave & Lizzie should do it. Dave defiantly says NO so nothing becomes of it.
Chris rings up his own BBC line to show how you vote for Best British Newcomer at the Brits. They say that they do this every day and vote for a different one each day. The team all agree to vote Misteeq today for the award. That number again is 08700 100 100 and option 4 to hear Nemone and the selections.
Chris runs through tonight's TV, which is the second leg of the Worthington Cup Semi Final between Spurs and Chelsea. They trail Sportstalk but doesn't feature anywhere later in the show. Chris points out at 19:55pm tonight on Channel 4 Top Toilets, riveting telly and Sex and the City at 10 and reads the blurb for it but says he hasn't got into it and has only seen one episode. Jonathon Maitland, him off ex Watchdog and now ITV1 House Of Horrors has a song he recorded for £25 in the final 8 for the Song For Europe. Chris and Dave wrote a song and got into the final 20 if any newspapers are thin on stories in the coming days.
Which sort of brings us to the final big topic today which all stemmed unlikely from Daves Guess Who. Dave was shopping with his girlfriend in a local Safeway. His girlfriend excitedly said to him that Will was in the pasta and sauce aisle and Dave thought she meant Mr Kinder and wondered why she was excited but it turns out it was one of the final four out of Pop Idol. But then they saw in the same Safeway Gareth in the frozen meat section and Darius in the shampoo section and they stood behind all 4 of them at the checkout while the shop assistants were slow as they were asking for pictures and autographs. This got Chris thinking that all 4 of them must be living in the same place hidden away from the public, so like early last year, he wants to phone them up. Chris finds out what hotel they are staying at and gets on good authority their mobile numbers but doesn't let on until the final 15 minutes of the show that piece of information because people flooded their email with bogus numbers for Darius. Chris rings about 8 different numbers for Darius but all of them are false. Chris finally decides to ring up the real number but it's switched on to the woman who takes a message. Chris says he cant end the show without a pop idol speaking so rings up Will (pop idol) and his voicemail message comes on and Chris leaves a message on it unconvincingly pretending to be Darius in a brogue deep Scottish accent. A slightly below par performance today.
