Thank God Chris is back. He opened up the show with a random phone call from Jingle Justin wishing some bloke a Merry Christmas. When asked which method of payment he would like to use to pay for his greeting, the caller said Justin had way too much time on his hands. Chris was his usual modest self and said it was a good job he was back on the air, because without him Radio 1 is (cue Scott Mills voice) ‘Rubbish’.
Aled is producing this week while Will is still on holiday. Chris said Will has a big announcement to make when he returns next Monday. Dave said ‘He’s not admitting it is he?’. Aled produced both Scott Mills and Wes (Chris called him Wes Penk) while Chris was away - and said Wes was very demanding in a ‘what’s coming up next’ kind of way, and also wouldn’t look him straight in the face. Also notable in today’s show was the fact that Chris has nicked Scott Mills’s pre-news music and as a result the ‘coming up next’ bit was a lot slicker than usual.
Chris moaned about the fact as soon as he got back Sara Cox was on holiday again. Dave said someone texted in to Colin & Edith’s show this morning saying ‘Coxy has more breaks than Steve Davis’. Aled has been up to a lot in the last 2 weeks. He was a guest on a pilot for a new Welsh TV show - and did some disco-dancing on it. Chris asked for the tapes to be sent to him but Aled said when he accepted the offer of appearing, the only condition was that Chris Moyles couldn’t see the tapes. Aled also did a train-station, Welsh voice-over that started off One Big Weekend in Cardiff. Chris interviewed Pink backstage in Cardiff for his show last night and said he ‘definitely would’. Dave said that was ‘the highest compliment you could bestow upon a woman.’ Chris said he thinks Pink is mucky. He also played the Junior Senior drops again.
Chris refused to play a trail for BBC 3’s 3 Non Blondes because he doesn’t think it’s funny. Chris said he was the only Radio 1 DJ who doesn’t have his own BBC 3 show. He played Breathe by Blu Cantrell and said after it had spent 4 weeks at Number 1, he loved the fact Radio 1 have just started playing it now it’s not. He also talked about David Blaine’s stunt briefly. He said he thought David Blaine was an idiot, but Dave and Chris both agreed he was an excellent guest when he was on the show a couple of years ago (edit it was only 6 months ago and I thought he was a dull pretentious twat). Chris went to LA and San Francisco for his holiday and showed Dave pictures of one of the hotels him and Sophie stayed in. It was very old but very colourful. Dave said it looked like a Flintstones Brothel. Chris didn’t go to any Lap Dancing Clubs in LA because he was banned by Sophie. He had a fantastic guess who from his (first class) plane journey back home, which was fine - despite his recent nervousness on flights - and the fact it was on September 11th. The Guess Who was a british male black singer under 30 who had been on the show more than once. Aled asked ‘Does he like you?’ Chris said yes. Dave said that narrowed it down. Chris was sat next to this person for the whole flight. He had to tell them. It was ....CRAAAIGG DAAVIIID. Dave’s reaction was so funny. Dave asked whether when the cabin crew were handing out headphones, Craig David wouldn't needed any because he already had his own ones on. Dave also asked Chris whether Craig David was wearing these headphones over his hat.
Mark Frith from Heat was back on the show today. The Heat copy with Dave's wedding snaps in sold 30,000 copies more than the previous week's. Dave said his mum bought 6 copies. He also said his wife was disappointed that the only week she was famous, she was out of the country. In the Group photo, Jaimesie (Dave’s best man) originally had his eyes closed so his head was swopped with one from another picture.
Mark presented Dave with a framed once-only Heat front page- with a picture of Dave and Emma on it. The caption said ‘Dave loves Emma more than ever..ton’. Dave said it wasn’t true as he loved them both equally. Dave also revealed they didn’t have sex on their wedding night. Chris had bet a tenner they didn’t and replied ‘Get in’. Dave replied ‘Or not..as the case may be’. It was also revealed Emma hasn’t changed her name to Vitty because she doesn’t like it enough. Dave said that was a bit of an insult as her surname is Pontefract.

Oh how I missed the repetitive music on Radio 1. Oh that lines makes me sound really old doesnt it. Chris said that Heat magazine told him that J Lo and Ben Affleck are still together. Does anyone care? No video replays but Chris said that Arsenals and Southampton penalties were laughable decisions. Still no viaduct return yet. Chris told one more of his forgetful drinking stories from the weekend.
Chris was late for One Live in Cardiff and missed the Thrills. He blamed this on Dave. Chris said while he was in San Fran, he listened to their album as their entered Santa Cruz and told this to one of the members. Aled had a new idea for a feature. Aled said that Sara Cox had her big ones and Colin and Edith have their number 2's. Aled decided that 3 would be predictable so decided to name the feature Aleds Sweet Sixteens. The premise being that they play a song that reached number 16 in the charts. He played some snippets like Chris Rea Auberge, Gene Vincent Be Bop A Lula, Mr Vegas Heads High (I bought that), PJ and Duncan and Gloria Estefan with the Miami Sound Machine with Bad Boys. The real 16'er was Dream Warriors and Wash Your Face in my Sink.

Sabrina Johnston Peace in the Valley - Sabrina Johnston sares her surname with Craig Johnston, once footballer with Liverpool and now a designer for football boots - Football boots needs studs as do horny horses who are on heat - In Heat was one of the ways to describe the members of the show during the Wedding photo shoot for said periodical, thanks for the grand - Grand Canyon is in America and can be seen from Space - Space were a mid nineties band whose finest hour was possibly when they performed at now axed Radio 1 roadshow in Rhyl where Shaun Ryder attended too - Shaun Ryder was in the Happy Mondays - Mondays are the first day of the week unless of course you are religious when its a Sunday - A Sundae is also a type of ice cream - If you take away the ice you are left with cream which combined with the words the, of and Manchester forms a popular slogan for Boddingtons bitter - Boddingtons bitter is brewed at Strangeways Brewery in Manchester right by the prison - And prison is where few people want to go and as a result of this a lot of prisoners try and break out - Which links us to Swing Out Sister (oops maybe not) Foo Fighters and Breakout.
