Well hello. Here it is, my first ever review. I’ve waited a long time for this moment. Well approximately two weeks anyway! So here goes…
Chris, Dave and Rachel were back home today, in London after being in Leeds all week. Bar Dominic though as the bald one was off sick today, so Jon Stewart filled in, that brought back memories of Scott Mills on breakfast!
There was another mention of Chris’ listener increase today, incase you still don’t know he’s managed to find over a million new listeners on the breakfast show since this time last year(When Coxy was doing it in other words!), so congrats to Chris and the team! Very well deserved!
Chris and Rachel apparently had a bit of a row during the first tea break, what was it about? Farting. Obviously Chris was the one being accused, he denied it but Rachel wouldn’t have any of it. He tried the whole “swear on my Mother’s life” thing with his Mother being sick and all. He even tried to blame Jon, saying perhaps they call him “Guffy” upstairs for a reason. They didn’t get a million new listeners for nothing y’know!
Rachel: I’ve not had a very pleasant experience in the last five minutes.
Chris: Well you’ve been working with Aled!
Another Footie competition today as tickets were up for grabs for the Man U – Arsenal game on Sunday, should be a good one! The tickets were for the United end, so naturally the callers were United fans. I was expecting two * to be honest, but they were both reasonably Northern. They were Pete, a computer engineer from Rochdale, and Louise, a teacher, who hasn’t been to a game for four years. Typical Man U fan! Pete won by a text vote, with 92% of the votes, he got the support of the team by saying he was taking his six year old son, Louise tried it on by saying she had an American boyfriend…it didn’t quite work.
Aled had a surprise guest for Chris this morning at 8.15, it was none other than Top Of The Pops very own Fearne Cotton, whom, as we’ve heard before, Chris is very much an admirer of. Chris referred to her being a Londoner, she said she wasn’t. She was born in North London. Yes that would make you a Londoner love. There was many flirting going on between the two of them as you can imagine. Fearne ran through the Top Of The Pops line-up for tonight, Duncan and Keedie, Geri(Who hates Chris’ guts apparently), Delta Goodrem and Eric Prydz etc. Chris was excited to see Andi Peters(from Capital FM).
Chris: You’ve obviously heard about the listening figures are you jumping ship already?!
Johnny Vaughan wasn’t there though. Fearne still had a bigger surprise for Chris though(It wasn’t that), she wants him to present Top Of The Pops with her and Reggie Yates tonight! I don’t think Chris quite knew what to say!
Chris: She’s just told you the line-up they need some star talent on there!
Not the best thing to say in front of Andi Peters(from Capital FM), but Chris gets away with murder. He thinks TOTP Saturday is the new Hollyoaks on Sunday, I agree, but not in the same way. Although one thing that confused me(as mentioned in one text message) I’m sure TOTP is recorded on a Thursday. Fearne sounded a bit edgy when Chris asked her about this, but she insisted it was live, so either this was all pre-planned, or it really is live as Moyles was certainly on tonight. So because I love you all so much:

MOYLES ON TOTP
You could tell he was new to it, perhaps he found it hard to concentrate standing next to the lovely Fearne, although nobody ever denies he’s a Radio man, not a TV man. I have to say I haven’t watched Top Of The Pops for years and years, so difficult to tell whether Chris did a good job or not really, as it’s more about the music than the presenters anyway, but nice to see Chris on the show, a performance with Mouldie Lookin Stain would be nice too. He got to introduce the legendary Duncan and Keedie, a song that’s been released about 30 years too late if you ask me, and also his good friends Travis, and the sexy Geri Halliwell, among many others. He seemed to enjoy himself, until hearing the shock news at the end that he won’t be invited back next week. Shame. Anyway, if you missed it and really really want to see it again, it’s repeated at 5am on BBC1, Sunday Morning.

They did a bit of a rehearsal for TOTP which was quite funny, as Chris kept getting it wrong. Chris was winding her up and Fearne was getting fed up. Surprising they got it right on the show at all really! But well done Chris anyway!

Chris and Dave were discussing who has ugly wives, Rachel wasn’t too happy, she said beauty is in the eye of the beholder. How romantic. Cue more Rach impressions from Chris which never seem to get old. Carrie got Chris a present, it was a little toy that makes some nice noises(I think we were all intrigued) Chris loved it, Colin Murray would be jealous. It was a keyring, with another person’s voice, so you press it and somebody else talks, so you’ve got someone’s voice in your pocket, I think I’ve got that right! Dave correctly guessed the voice as Mr T. Chris had some fun Roy Walker style with it. “First name Mr, middle name Period, last name T” Y’see I bet you never knew his middle name was Period. Chris wanted to use it on Top Of The Pops tonight, very funny that would have been!
