“They want me to star in it, write the theme tune, sing the theme tune…” More from Matt Lucas and David Walliams later!
Chris wasn’t feeling much better today than he has been feeling all week. He still hasn’t got his voice back, even his ankle is hurting! It must be serious! I’m sure we all feel for him, it’s not as if anybody else ever gets a cold at this time of year! At least he still turns up for the show in the morning though, and doesn’t subject us all to Scott Mills!
There were plenty of text messages this morning about random things, praising the show, song requests, praising “Chris and the gang” and just people who generally wanted their name read out on the radio. Chris said he loves them all, however, he was annoyed, not one single text message saying “get well soon”. Chris said he was dying! Well not actually dying, but he does this for us, and nobody cares! Yeah, whatever.
BUZZ OFF:
Great choice this morning, it was Pulp’s Disco 2000. One of the only Pulp songs I can actually remember these days, along with Common People. Chris is on a bit of a role with Buzz Off at the moment. Dave buzzed in first, what does he know?! Dom was next, really just because he had to get out for the news, and Rachel last. 81% buzz on from the listeners, quite right too!
Chris had a great new game for us just after the 7.30 news, called “The was it a good idea or not?” game. The title explains it really. So, this morning Chris ordered a sausage sandwich, which Joce went for, and when it came back, well, the sausage was too big is the best way I can think of to word it! Was it a good idea or not? Well I think that question has been answered…
FRIDAY FOOTIE COMP:
This week’s game was Norwich V Fulham. Tickets for the Norwich end at Carrow Road. On Line 1, was Steve, a trainee PE teacher. who got on the wrong side of Chris after slagging off Leeds United, pointing out they lost to Rotherham on Monday, so from this point, Chris didn’t like him. His story was, in a nutshell, his Dad never gets to go anymore so he’d like to take him to return the favour for his Dad taking him as a child, but as Chris pointed out, we’ve heard that sob story before! On Line 2, it was Rachel, who wants the tickets for her husband, as her Dad died last year, and he’s been really good too her, and even put up with his Mother in-law living with him, so she wants to repay the favour. Dave says he deserves a season ticket! I have to say, this competition is never as exciting as it should be, as there is always one obvious winner! And, of course, this week, it was Rachel, who won with her Dead Dad/Mother in-law story, and will be going to Carrow Road tomorrow, well done Rachel!

Today was day three of the Chris Moyles show advent calendar. Today’s celeb was the most random yet, Linda Lusardi:
“Hi Chris, it’s day three of Christmas advent, and I’m Linda Lusardi. I’m backstage at the music theatre, Woking getting ready for my performance in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, I hope that you, the team, and all your Radio 1 listeners have a very merry Christmas.
Chris said he likes Linda Lusardi, but not everybody does. But, as Dave said, she has knockers. Of course meaning critics, i.e. people who want to knock her, and she has big breasts!
Today’s special guests were of course, Matt Lucas and David Walliams. If you don’t know who they are, sod off! They were on Jonathan Ross on Friday, with U2, although, as Chris pointed out, they all met U2 weeks ago! Little Britain is on Friday’s at 9.30pm on BBC1 for anyone who hasn’t seen it on BBC3. It’s up against I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, although for me it has much more competition from Max and Paddy on Channel 4. Chris had presents for the lads. David got some Pet Shop Boys videos. Matt got Scissor Sisters DVD. Chris and David live near each other apparently, and David always likes to give him a wave. Also revealed during this interview was that that isn’t Michael Jackson’s real voice, and Avid Merrion is right. He just puts on that voice to get sympathy. There were a few more random conversations, including one about Chris meeting the lead singer of T’Pau. The lads stuck around for a while.
Chris gave Dominic the chance to impress Matt and David with his impressions. He did Ronnie Corbett, Jim from Eastenders, and even characters from Little Britiain. Chris also did an impression of “write the theme tune, sing the theme tune” although it sounded more like a clip to me. The jingle plays.
Apparently at the Little Britain book signing, people were turning up dressed as characters from the show. This led into a whole discussion about wheelchairs, for anyone who dressed up as Lou and Andy. David said you can get them from chemists, although Chris said it would be ok to borrow one from a hospital, which Rachel disagreed with. Although you may have a friend who has one you can borrow, Matt said you must never steal them though. I have to say, I don’t regret choosing Max and Paddy over Little Britain on Friday night! Nor will I next Friday.
Also brought up during this interview, were Matt and David’s fans shouting catchphrases at them, Chris going to see Beautiful South, Chris presenting Top Of The Pops and fancying Fearne Cotton. The X Factor was also brought up. Discussing how rubbish G4 are, it means nothing to me! Part of me wishes I hadn’t gone on holiday the week it started and ignored it afterwards. Matt says he’s gonna vote for G4 to annoy everyone. Shame this had to be interrupted by Dave’s Tedious Link.
TOP OF THE POPS “CHRISTMAS PARTY”
This competition which seems to have gone on forever was back today. The three pop acts today were easy. They were Beyonce, Eminem and Coldplay. Aled had the winners, but Chris told him not to read them out. So congratulations to you, whoever you are, and enjoy the Radio 1 Top Of The Pops “Christmas Party”.
CARPARK CATCHPHRASE
On Line 1, it’s contestant number one:
Colin, a Joe Pasquale soundalike, from Brighton: 2
On Line 2, it’s contestant number two:
Alex, a police officer, from Twyford: 1
Quite an average show today for me, as I don’t watch Little Britain much, so I didn’t really understand what they were on about most of the time, I’m sure it would have been very funny though, but I don’t like it when a guest takes up too much time in the show.
ALSO ON TODAY’S SHOW:
Chris saw the Barenaked Ladies last night(They’re a band)
Some guy from Duran Duran as a random guess who from Chris
Aled came in early to work on “The secret Christmas project”
David Walliams calling Chris’ girlfriend a ladyboy
Football chat with Matt Lucas
Chris doing Little Britain impressions
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK:
Natasha Bedingfield, Little Britain, Aled meets The Queen, Kelly Brook, Rachel’s return, G4 bashing
Best Show: Tuesday
