Before I say anything else I'd just like to say one word - PARODIES. It's always the same isn't it? You wait ages for a parody and then two come along at once. This week Chris has played his parody of Westlife's cover of Billy Jole's Uptown Girl and repeated it today. He also announced and played his version of Hear'Say's Pure and Simple. This review won't be as good as it could be for one reason - I spent most of the show have ripping both of these songs to MP3 and they should be up on this website as soon as Chris Harris has uploaded them. They should both be avaiable in low quality (64kbps) and high quality (128kbps) versions.

The links were pretty boring today - talking about the drinking challenge, celebrity big brother (again) and the usual Friday Dance banter. There was a prank call from John Culshaw (as Robbie Williams) to a local radio station, asking them to play a robbie Williams track. Mildly amusing. Todays feature was Car-e-oke - an Oasis track.

Now for the good stuff.....
Both lyrics are here... well at least my rough translation. When you get the mp3 you will notice that I have cut out the bits with westlife 'singing' for your pleasure. Number 1 is only a mini-parosy and Pure & Simple is probally the funnier of the two. Listen closely to the Number 1 song and see if you can hear Chris swear - I think he says 'Shi' otherwise it wouldn't have been allowed - see what you think.

[Chris Moyles - Hear'Say vs. Oasis vs. All Saints - Pure and Simple]

You've been watching all of us on T.V.,
and now you're listening to our first ever CD,
you probally think you've heard this song before.
Sounds familiar in certain places,
a bit like All Saints and Oasis,
but A court Case would be hard to fight.
Turned in to work (?) started out as fun.
And that fella Nigel says we'll be nuuuuuumber 1.

[sung to the tune of Oasis' All Around the World]
All around the world,
you gotta spread the word
Tell 'em what you heard,
you gotta make a better day.
All around the world,
you gotta spread the word
Tell 'em what you heard,
everythings gonna be ok.

I'm the one with hair in cute curls,
I'm the one that doesn't seem to like girls,
A combination that is bound to win.
I'm the one that's a little bit snobby,
I'm the one that's chesty and gobby,
And I'm the only one that can actually sing.

We auditioned, we were the best in the place,
baby, baby.
And all were better than the bloke who sang 'The smile on your face...'.

[sung to the tune of All Saints' Never Ever]
Never ever have I ever felt so low,
When you gonna take me out of this black hole?
Never ever have I ever felt so sad,
The way you're feeling yea you've got me feeling really bad.
Never ever have I had to find,
I've had to dig a way to find my own piece of mind.
I've never ever had my concicous,
the way you're feeling yea it just don't feel right.

This is my favourite bit of the record,
The bit where I get to show off (yeaaaaaa),
The rest of the band (?) wish I would just bogoff (?).

[All Saint's] You Want what you cannot have.

(Baby, Baby)

All important key change.

[Hear'Say]
Whatever you've done,
I wanna be there.
Whatever you do,
You know I wanna be there.
It's pure and simple (hey hey),
I'll be there for you.
(It's pure and simple gonna be there)
Whatever it takes (All around the world),
I swear it's true, you know I wanna be there.
It's pure and simple (hey hey),
I'll be there for you.
(It's pure and simple gonna be there)
Whatever you've done,
Whatever you do, you know I wanna be there.
It's pure and simple (hey hey),
I'll be there for you.

[Westlife vs Wusslife - Uptown Girl (No. 1)(HQ).mp3]
Number 1, this record clearly is a number 1.
It'll go straight to the top, it's plain to see.
Cos all the proffits go to charity,
we're also favourites for a number 1 (number 1),
we're shifting records by the metric ton.
We're clean, respectable and dead polite,
Although some people think are songs are s**te. (s**te),
But they're not buying this..

Our record company told us we were doing well,
and we ????? a cover of Billy Jo-EL.
Our bosses are dead smart,
Cashing in on us pop tarts.
For a...

Very good show today (just because of the parodies which left me laughing out loud).
