Chris played the Bargain Hunt mix by Diffusion at the top of the show, possibly because on todays show, David namechecked Chris when talking to a contestant who wanted to become a Radio 1 DJ. Chris and the team were very knackered today as they went out for training with two of the Gym Idols. Chris went home afterwards to have a bath and put his head under the water and had to get out because he felt sick.
As reported today, Hear'Say have officially split up after a year and a half. The record company blame the heckling and insults from people and press for the split and that they have had enough. After Will and Gareth selling 132,000 copies of their duet, could their time be up very soon too. Remember Will sold over 1.2 million of his hit in the FIRST WEEK and Gareth 800,000. Chris - They had a studio in the Radio Topshop and I would be DJ, it was my full time job. There was a format to it like you had to play oldies between 11 and 12 and you had play certain music at certain times. In the last half hour before the shop shut, we used to have to play love songs. So they ran it like a radio show. I used to be in there every day and I used to think This is Balls because I could see all the customers coming in and it was predominantly a youth market, not as young as it is now but it was certainly heading that way. Im like People dont want to hear The Power Of Love. They want to hear some funky stuff so I used to get all the chart hits before they were released. But that wasnt good enough for me. So I had to go off and buy some white label stuff so there was one shop in Leeds I used to go to, its still going now. I used to go down there on my lunch break two or three times a week and ask what they had. The great myth about me is that im not interested in music is hilarious. I would listen to all these bizarre imports, some dance stuff and some foriegn tracks and thats where I first heard of A Homeboy, A Hippie and A Funky Dread, Total Confusion and Freedom, Great Records. Crystal Waters Gypsy Woman, I had that weeks before anyone else and I paid £7.99 for it.

Chris - The only other way I could get hold of brand new records that noone else had heard of was by taping Pete Tongs Essential Selection. What I did was I remember he played PM Dawn and Set Adrift on Memory Bliss, so what I did was play the tape to just to the very end and when he starts talking you pressed reset on the counter and then you rewind it back to the bit where he stops talking in the intro. So I did it one day and I never said that I had recorded it off the radio cos its naughty.
