The team talked about the Ferguson-Beckham incident again. Chris said one of the papers wrote about how Beckham could sue for negligence. Will asked if David was going to appear on one of them Claims Direct adverts and Chris did an impression of what it might sound like. A caller phoned up from Manchester and said that in the local Manchester paper it said that Manchester United were not going to take any action against David Beckham. Chris said that it might have been David’s fault, he could have got in the way of the boot! Another caller rang to ask if
Chris thought Ferguson kicked a ‘Predator’ at Beckham and it swerved. Dave had to explain to Chris what a Predator is.
The caller also asked if Chris thought Alex put his shirt over his head after he’d hit Beckham. Chris said they might have swapped shirts after the row. After the news, Chris asked George “Why is Alex Ferguson the funniest man in football?” George replied “Because he’s always got David Beckham in stitches!” It would have been impressive if Chris hadn’t told George the punchline of the air first.
Radio 1 ONLINE is running a straw poll to let the listeners decide who should win the various award categories. The team was running through it and picking the artists that they felt should win. The team were discussing news in the papers today. Rik Waller was apparently told to lose weight or die. Chris thought the tabloid newspaper terminology was funny because it described Rik as a “Rolly polly pop flop. Chris was going to say ‘lets have a whip ‘round for a Burger King for Mr. Waller’ but he decided it would be cruel.
Chris wanted to learn to play the piano part to Coldplay’s new single Clocks. Dave had a keyboard upstairs so this seems to be a little challenge for Chris, also known as ‘we have no features so we desperately need to fill time’. Harsh? Maybe but it’s time they came up with some new features and put the effort in for a change. They just don’t seem to care anymore.
