Greyhead is off this week because he was on a course. Chris joked that it was open and closing doors training. Rachel is producing the show, former producer of the Chris's Saturday show. Chris gave us some facts about Rachel: She did the London Marathon you know! Leeds were beaten by Newcastle at the weekend, but Chris said he enjoyed it anyway because he had posh seats in the gantry. Chris had a nightmare journey back home to London because of traffic chaos on the M1. Aled is also off today because he has had a long weekend away. Chris said he
seems to be the only member of Radio 1 who doesn't seem to have odd days off. He said he's considering having a day off to spent St. Patrick's day in Dublin. Chris is trying to stay off the booze for as long as he can. He said the main problem is that he gets bored and ends up going to the pub for a quick pint and a chat to his mates. Chris asked if someone would like to join him in his quest so that he might stand a better chance. Dave said he would be willing to help Chris battle the booze for as long as possible. Somebody emailed in and told Chris he should be a good Roman Catholic citizen and give up beer for Lent.
Producer Rachael thought that the Sugarbabes 'Shape' intro sounds very similar to the Eminem 'Sing for the Moment' intro. Chris played the 2 intros separately, but they sounded completely different. Then he played them both at the same time and it sounded like a very good bootleg. Some more versions of Coldplay's Clocks remixes came in, including a Drum and Bass version and a Ska version. Chris played Sheldon's Scooter tribute 'Moped' version
again and he offered Rachel £60 if she managed to hear it without laughing. She lost it as soon as she hear the 'more tea vicar' line.
Chris spoke about the Kylie-Danni-Justin thing (I’d explain but I don’t quite understand what’s going on). He thinks Justin is a lucky sod, and mentioned again that he just doesn’t get why so many women find Justin Timberlake attractive.
Chris discovered that the intro to Good Charlotte’s “Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous” is the same as “Walking on Sunshine” by Catrina and the Waves, just slightly slower. To fill a link AGAIN they went through some summer album (sorry, missed the title) remixing Good Charlotte into them all.
Desperation on the show was sunk to a new level today as they managed to fill two links about Space Bras without even explaining what they are, and doughnuts. I always thought Chris and Dave could survive regardless of who the other team members are, but today in my opinion they were missing Aled and particularly Will, something I never thought I would have to say. I’m sick of trying to form a good review out of yet another terrible show and that upsets me.
Ahm, what did they do after 4:30, well to sum it up, not much. Coldplay remixes replayed and the unwelcome return of Hello Im Listening.
Daves Tedious Link
Shed Seven Going For Gold - Going For Gold was a TV Game show hosted by Henry Kelly - Henry Kelly shares his surname with both R Kelly and Matthew Kelly, fortunately for him thats all he shares - Chers hit If I Could Turn Back Time featured the plastic singer straddling a cannon - Tommy Cannon is one of the UK's best loved entertainers along with his comedy partner Bobby Ball - Bobby Ball shares his surname with Alan Ball, a former midfield general - The DJ Midfield General is a mate of Norman Cooks who is bizarrely married to Zoe Ball who has the same surname as both Alan Ball and Bobby Ball - Bobby Balls has the same first name as Bobby Ewing - Patrick Duffy played the character in Dallas - He also played the Man from Atlantis (NOTE-Patrick Duffy appearing for the 4th time in a Tedious Link) - The Man from Atlantis spent long periods of time underwater as did Sean Connery in the Hunt for Red October - October has 31 days as does March - March is the only month to begin with the letter M (ahm Dave what about May) - M People recorded Search for the Hero which appeared in that Peugeot advert while Tina Turner recorded We Dont Need Another Hero which appeared in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome - Tina Turner herself was part of the cast - Which links us to Cast and Allright
