Chris went to the pub last night and didn’t get home until 11:30. He said he felt alright today except for the fact that his voice seemed to have stayed out for a couple of extra hours and as a result he was sounding pretty rough at the start of today’s show. Chris decided to wake himself up a bit by slapping Aled, as suggested by an anonymous texter (Aled himself probably). Chris talked about the “All-Star” line up for ITV1’s I’m Not A Celebrity, Get Me In Here. Chris ran through the ten contestants taking part, giving his opinions. They are - Neil “Razor” Ruddock, Diane Modahl (ex-athlete who was a mature student at Daves College in Warrington when he was there), Mike Read (ex Radio 1 DJ), Jenny Bond, Lord Brockett (whooooo?), Peter Andre, Alex Best, John Lydon (Chris was very surprised he’s agreed to do it, he met him in LA on the American trip in 2002) and the two that certainly have their knockers, Kerry McFadden and Jordan. Chris said although she’s no nun, Jordan isn’t as slutty as she’s made out to be. She and John Lydon are Chris’s tips to win. I think it’ll be Razor although I won’t be watching and will probably only find out about it through Chris’s show. Rachel wanted to arrange a team sweepstake. Dave said he’d arrange as he was keen to make up for his major mathematical Brits mess up but Chris decided against it.

When Jules reads the sport, Dave has to get out of his seat to let her sit down. Chris said that with his cup of tea on the go and back against the wall Dave looked exactly like a factory worker this morning, except for the fact he was wearing another one of his Christmas jumpers bought by Emma. Talk somehow got round to the shirt that Dave was wearing on his stag do and Chris said he should wear it again when Dale Winton is on the show tomorrow. Chris found a picture on the net of Dave in that shirt with Dr Mark Hamilton. Dave asked where it was from. It was from here in the MoylesWorld picture gallery but for some reason Chris snubbed the chance of giving the site a mention, probably because Dave didn’t want people seeing the pics (understandable when you see the colour of that shirt). Chris was back off-form in the Buzz Off department today, picking the horror that was Pass That Dutchie by Musical Youth from 1982. Aled, Dave and Rachel had all buzzed in the first twenty seconds and then Aled went off to text in Buzz Off on Chris’s phone. Dom and Jules were doing a news calypso dance next door and the British public were loving it, shockingly. The song was buzzed off at 3mins 11secs and Dave thought it was rigged. The show has some new jingles that were given their first airings today. They are sung by Chris’s “jingle singers” and played after the news, with the last one taking a nice dig at Coxy.

“Good Morning to you people, we’re here to sing for you,
cos we are Chris’s singers, that’s what we love to do,
If it was a late night, go grab your coffee cup,
and if you drink too much we hope you’re not chucking up,
The Chris Moyles Show, National Radio One”

“Now Chris Moyles is at breakfast, he hasn’t changed at all,
He still looks overweight and fancies Zoe Ball,
He’s still the same old Moylesy, he eats out of a trough,
and he won’t change at all till he asks for Fridays off.
The Chris Moyles Show, National Radio One”

“We’re the new show on the air and we know we’re not the same,
To be your number 1, well that’s our major aim,
What makes this show stand out when the record has stopped playing,
When he speaks into the mic, you understand what he’s saying”

Chris had Radio 1’s first big live music announcement of 2004 at 8.15. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are coming to the UK with Radio 1 this summer to play three gigs at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, Hyde Park in London (85 000+, R1 will be there) and The City of Manchester Stadium (I might go if I can be arsed getting up early on Saturday for tickets). Tickets go on sale Sat at 9am and full details are on Radio 1 Online - http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/events/rhcp ... _lat_title. Chris had the first pair of tickets for the Hyde Park gig to give away. They were won by Susanne from Liverpool who correctly identified “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” as the Chili Peppers 1991 album featuring Under The Bridge. Chris and Dave did an on air appeal for tickets themselves. Dave has seen the Chili’s once before at Camden Palace in London and Chris saw them at The Reading festival in the mid-90’s. Vermin Kay texted in to say he was listening. Chris did his crap impersonation and told Aled to have a go at a Vernon impression. Aled was very funny but got slightly confused in his deep butch northern accent when he said Vernon was from Hollyoaks, when he’s actually from Bolton. Dave said Culshaw would be bricking himself. The show temporarily went off air in Devon and The West Country for a few minutes near the end of the show, pity it couldn’t have happened just a few minutes later and they’d have been saved from Jo Whiley. Jo’s favourite person (Aled) wanted to point out he hadn’t pulled any plugs out in a Dave Vitty/Simon Mayo stylee.

Don’t forget you can see each days link on the Tedious Links Page, with details of the album it was taken from.
