BREAKFAST ROUND UP - SCOTT MILLS (GOOD MORNIN...)
With it being the summer hols and no Moyles to set the alarm for, I will admit that I only heard 40 minutes of Scott’s 2 week stint on Brekkie Cover - that being the first 40 mins of his first show when I got up especially in case of any new jingles...which there weren’t (so back to bed I went). I got zero e-mails about stuff that happened (cheers for that), so I am going entirely off comments from the messageboard when I do my mini round up here:
*Jon Stewart and Chappers took over news and sport duties, although for some reason Dom was reading the afternoon news and presenting both Newsbeat programmes four days out of five this week.
*Scott continued to play out more of his totally original wind up phone calls *cough*, this time featuring Gandalf, Trisha and Bo Selecta Trisha.
*The Tedious Half Hour - a half hour where listeners do tedious links of their own from one song to another.
*Scott trying to find crap songs for his iPod, in a bit of a Kenny Everett stylee.
*Him and Chappers texting in to Babe Station and the girls reading out Scott’s text saying he was “the manliest man ever", although none of Chappers’ texts got read out. That's it I'm afraid folks.
- If you think I’ve missed out anything especially important out then once again, either drop me an e-mail by clicking on ]this link or visit the messageboard by clicking the link at the bottom of this entry. Merci beaucoup. My Moyles reviews will of course return on Monday evening and I have just two final things to mention before I leave you for the weekend:
1 - Please listen to JK & Joel as they are great (I’ll be working but plan to tape)
2 - Visit http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/oneclick and check out Radio One’s new Specialist shows, that go out weekdays at 3am for an hour. They are all available to listen again to and I particularly recommend (if you’re a bit of a film buff like me) Thursdays oneclick/film with James King. Well presented, put together and a really good mix of music on there - Huey Lewis, Len, Curtis Mayfield, George Gershwin, Blink 182, The Commodores, Elvis Costello and Chuck Berry. Not exactly your usual Radio One Playlist let’s face it.
